Whilst I agree with you Lighty your over enthusiasm to put someone down because of his opinion is as bad as the original posters predisposition to taring every foreign national with the same brush and TBH a little naive to the thoughts of the majority. Yes the Daily Mail does hype things up, but the government doesnt help itself here, allowing thr minority to breed their hatred of other races (be it edl or islamist etc I dont care) with what appears to be little or no action leads people down this garden path. The benefits culture that is regularly abused on both sides will always seem worse tojoe bloggs struggling to make a living yet sees someone come into his country and appear to get more help. Its over dramatised in the papers yes, but lets not pretend it doesnt happen. I have no problem with multiculturalism as on the whole people commit to our way of life and laws, but even I think its going too far now, europe and our benefits system (which yes is equally abused by white british). My boss is eastern european, he is also degree educated and working in an undersubscribed industry, these are the people we should be allowing into the UK, carefully vetted and meeting criteria, not just anyone. Oz has its head screwed on here, also if you commit a crime etc or speak of hatred you shoukd be free to be deported. Basically ignoring the facts, ignoring what I would say is the thoughts of the majority and calling people ignorant for feeling the way they do is pretty ironic TBH. There are serious racial tensions bubbling under the surface in many of our largest cities IMO and ignoring it, or any of the issues that are helping to charge peoples opinions is very dangerous.

I get the impression that it makes people feel strong in their ivory tower by ignoring events but chucking the racist card around Though, the EDL are a an equal bunch of f*cking idiots, it is Ironic that they have become what they stand against
-
From my point of view, allowing Islamist extremists to have a voice in this country opens the door to actions like we have seen tonight. Equally the EDL lot need to be dealt with, they only inflame the situation and in essence are the same in the fact that they are effectively inciting racial hatred. The government and its immigration policy doesnt help the situation, nor the whole free speech debate, its just rediculous. You cant allow anyone to say anything they like, there is always a limit. There are a lot of people sick to death with the immigration policy, rightly or wrongly, and it makes situations worse. What we dont need if uber sensitive mods ensuring that the only opinion on the forum is theirs and throwing around the 'racist' card so easily. If you want to be a floppy wristed liberal then fair enough, but dont start forcing your cotton wool culture on those that have a backbone.

Its Jimmy and Chalets way or the highway my friend

Its only going to get worse and ignoring things from both sides isnt the answer. We cant even deport a bloke convicted of preaching hatred FFS

I usually give players time, and sometimes I see things in players but for me I have seen very little of young Mayuka except for pace and a decent attitude. Hopefully he will show me the form which made him one of the worlds high potential youngsters

Andy Carroll pulls out of squad.. Lambert in?
Smirking_Saint replied to bowers-sfc's topic in The Saints
Exactly this, he is a huge handfull and has ability. Everyone forgets how he looked for newcastle before Kenny ruined him (as he also did for so many others) Id say 15m was a fair price, little high but its english premium and the scousers looking to recoup -
Carlton Cole 10's on Bet Victor to join us.
Smirking_Saint replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
If they pay enough they can have him, as fir Caroll, he is underrated for anyone except for those that watch the game. 35m was vastly OTT for him, but 15m is reasonable IMO. He is mobile, young and a huge handfull. He certainly wouldnt fit our mould but can certainly see his value. Carlton Cole ? Seriously no thanks. Will be a champ player next year, whether its too or bottom depends on his form. As for Saints ? We need a mobile front man, big, strong and that can lead the line. Lukaku or Bentekeish -
Get Scott Sinclair firing again and he will be a decent signing.... Dependant on price
-
How did you make all your money then ? Only play with one team 433 Lloris Richards - IF Sagna - IF Skrtl - IF3 Enrique IF Wilshere - IF Sissoko - IF Gerrard Ben Arfa - Torres - Hazard
-
Hammond a european player ? I dont think so
-
They really aren't they just wouldnt be as effective without Carroll, he is basically the new Heskey, employed primarily to be a battering ram and causing chaos, you can tell nobody wants to play against him. The way chelsea play I cant see them lending him to WHU anyways, he will go to a team that plays similarish football

We were not the only ones that made a mega profit, I imagine all of the big four did. The price of energy is absolutely horrendous right now. Mainly because fuel prices are skyhigh and as a country we are at max capacity when you look at usage vs generation. EDF is state owned yes, the profit margins are as the company as a whole though. As a whole SSE made around 1.5bn profit and 410m of which was retail. Regardless the only way to attempt to drive prices down is to create a competeyive market, if we go back to state owned supply then the industry will suffer (generation/distribution etc) The fact is we have private companies working in a v heavily regulated industry within which the government ploughs millions into infrastrucure reinforcement and new generation. If the government had better plans to deal with the amount of energy we produce vs use (and deal with transmission losses effectively) then the price of our electric will drop. It also doesnt help that any new generation site tends to be heavily opposed. You cant have everything.

Andy Carroll pulls out of squad.. Lambert in?
Smirking_Saint replied to bowers-sfc's topic in The Saints
Whatever his reason was he hasnt been at his best for 6 weeks. He has a lot of these little episodes when he hasnt been playing great which transpire to him playing through an injury during the period of time he has a dip in form -
What are you on about ? 7, but mainly as I dont think he has been at the same consistant level as Cork, Morgs, Clyne, Shaw and Boruc

He really doesnt atm -
They tried doing it publically, it didnt work which is why we ended up going private in an attempt to make the industry more customer friendly and in an attempt to introduce competition. The industry has become streamlined, the networks are becoming better run and in general people are getting a better service. Now I do agree that perhaps energy should be provided at as little cost as possible it will possibly remove competition and prices will remain mostly the same. You really should be asking questions of the government as to why we produce not enough energy but consume so much

Another slow news day then

True, but the way we play lends itself to the need of an all rounder, Lukaku, Benteke etc Im not great with European talent TBH but someone of that ilk. Michu would have been perfect. And in fact we almost replaced Lambert for Michu in the summer but Laudrup got his man.
