Good player, had a poor end to his Lyon stint but a change of scene and some coaching by poch and it coukd be inspired. Just got back from IOW and this happens !!! Epic Ill go to download tomorrow, see if it helps

There is no point having this arguement Turks, they have been told before but dont bother to listen. I cant be arsed to go through players playing together, time to coach, systems etc again. Clearly the answer is any Englishman that plays for saints, plus a couple from lower league sides. Fergie and the professionals at Utd etc are wrong, Welbeck and Cleverley arent fit to play for Dagenham etc etc

Are Cameras the Future of Car Insurance?
Smirking_Saint replied to Lighthouse's topic in Motoring Forum
Hope not, I dont pay for insurance anymore anyway. But I do see your point, this or black boxes will be the future I think -
Oh jesus christ calm down

Plus generally the bigger signings are not made until the end of the window or else you end up paying wages for an extra 2 months plus all of the travel expenses to get players here and there. Add to this the fact that players are on their holidays or internationals. In short, everyone needs to stop getting their knickers in a twist, trust me we will be ok.

Adkins always struck me as one of those managers that needed all the help he could get in the transfer market. He seemed to sort out Punch tho

The forum isnt slow but whenever I go on the Staplewood thread it crashes safari

Not sure what his wages are, and last season Celtic wanted in excess of 10-12 mil, which is a lot even for someone of his scoring record who is technically untried in a top division. At 4-6 mil it is probably worth the risk, dependant of wages. I could see him joining a bottom half of the table side for that and doing v well. Id actually be happy with his signing if Im honest
-
Hooper is a good player IMO, not slow, good feet, good in the air and has scored goals everywhere and in Europe. Unfortunately The SFL is a poor standard so it will still be a risk. Still, at 4-6 mil he could end up a steal.

Still, if only we had Michail Antonio aswell

He played the first 90 minutes you mentalist

We have had entirely the wrong idea for tournament preparation and getting an international side to the level required to perform under those conditions. Too much emphasis is put on how the England marketing machine is there to make money in the way that we play too many prestiege friendlies and concentrate on our more marketable players making appearances. It all has to be changed from the top down, they need a director of football and the respective managers of the England teams (U19s, U21's, senior) all singing from the same hymn sheet and understanding how to build an international side. This includes keeping the best possible teams together for the underage tournaments, not whisking them away for pointless friendlies. Making more use of our technical training centre. And not picking players in a side that are too old for the next WC, whether its a euro season or not. The team needs to bed and gel and the fact you get little time to coach internationals mean that its vital to get them to gel. The prem and the FA need to stop banging their heads together aswell, and personally if a player refuses to play in an under 21 tourney I would refuse to pick then for the full side. Itll be a long road, so will need to ignore the media and fans clamour for overage players that just show some short term form in order to bring younger blood through. Even at international levels a team can go through transition. Hermany did, spain did, italy did. Sadly England and the FA are more concerned with money than success.

Why does gaston only ever play 70 minutes I here you say?

This.... I agree with You either use the boy properly or you need to reinvest in players that fit the system you want to play. FWIW as seen against everton he doesnt seem scared to get stuck in a play the pressing game either
-
Im not entirely sure if he has ever held one has he ? Not that I remember anyway... For one reason or another
-
I know you like an arguement Sour, but that doesnt mean you have to be a pedantic **** now does it ? It was a direct quote from incey, and yes is relevant, it shows how it happens and how it can be frustrating for the player and others. Its not rocket science, but I dont necessarily expect you to understand it either....
-
Lambert definately has the brain but isnt mobile enough. Lallana probably is but not seen much from him since his injury. Punch is hit and miss for me, had a good season but dont think he will be consistant at this level. Edit - and I didnt say sny of them were no where near
-
It is relevant, I have also both played with and coached players better and worse then me and it is certainly noticeable when players just cant read what is happening. Bare in mind Gaston will generally be playing on instinct when making those passes. It really depends on where we want to be and what we have to spend. A top 10 team IMO has to involve Gaston
-
He certainly hasnt been as bad as many have made out but agree that he hasnt lived up to the 12m price tag. That said compared to the fees chucked at his british equivalents then it could turn out to be a steal. He definately needs people ahead of him, its what his game is about. Lambert has started to drop into the holes gaston lives in aswell. But dont doubt the fact that better players can look worse playing with worse players. I renember Ince going mental in training with Wolves as the players around him were nowhere near his level
-
Exactly this, though say it quietly as the majority will tell you that you are talking crap and better players should be able to play with anyone

God I am glad that Adkins left...how embarrassing!

Wonder how many will be eating humble pie when Ramirez kicks on next year ? -
Its not just pearce and hodgson but you are right, they certainly dont help. Unfortunately we arent good enough to play decent attacking football against the rest. Jesus, I even play a defensive set up on FM !!!

Meh, its not the first time dune me old mucker, Im a tory myself

I see the Dutch youth machine is continuing to drive out players with exquisite talent on the ball. Strootman, wijnaldum, luuk de jong and maher all looking excellent so far
