Perhaps I over reacted a touch, he just isnt having the impact this year that he should be, 5 goals from open play only is poor really. But that may be to do with the fact we dont seem to be creating any real chances as a team despite the flair players we have. BUT he does seem lacking to me this year, dangerous in the air tes but he isnt as much of a handfull on the deck and certainly did nothing really at Fulham or Sunderland.

Well, not really, seeing as we dont know the full ins and outs of said deal, other targets, P terms etc etc Certainly V dissapointing yes as he would be the player we wanted. Playing Devils advocate though, Adkins is part of the committee that chooses and vets choices, not the man that would agree any deals or talk terms.

You can never 100% believe anythi g but the feelers were there apparantly. And as for Huth, no idea, could be true, I think NC is being quite strict with a wage structure built around a few top earners.

I think you would be mistaken if you thought none of it was his decision, our head scout has plenty of experience, I think its a case of perhaps aiming and failing to sign players possibly too good for our position. We signed Clyne, Ramirez and maybe even Yoshi who all perhaps could have gone to higher clubs due to age and potential etc We also looked at Butland, Biyik, Michu etc possibly aiming too high was our flaw.

True, we just need more in the final third I think, watching us our issue isnt taking chances really, its just a lack of creating them.

Um, not really a Smork when I said it I agree that Lallana adds more to the team ATM then Ramirez, but I think us missing Lallana is compounded by our lack of an adequate option on the left allowing Gaston to play in the whole where I think he is better. I love Lallana as much as the next Saints fan but unless he develops decent pace or a real predatory brain (he so often runs into blind alleys or makes the wrong decision.

Cant you just watch it on Saints player or football first if your that bothered ?? I get the impression Lawrenson likes us, or any other lower league team however.

Tosh, from what I have seen of him his brain and class is better than anyone else in the team. Its far too early to say whether or not he is worth the outlay, for if his undoubted class suddenly clicks and fires us into safety in the second half of the season then I think ge would be easily worth it. The why didnt we spend X on X more players isnt right either, it looks to me that this deal was an extra, outside of what we were trying to achieve in the summer, a marquee signing, Im sure if we hadnt captured him we wouldnt have seen the 12 mil spent in other areas. He is streets ahead of Lallana and Punch in terms of a brain, and although Lambert has IMO arguably a brain that could perhaps match his ATM he just has not got the skill or mobility. Ramirez will be a top top player, perhaps not here, but he will be. He has just signed from seria A which is a completely different football philosophy to what we play here and although he plays out wide for Uraguay he seems more isolated for us in that position, playing him through the middle could pay dividends, you just need someone to step up and balance that left side.

Well, like I said earlier, Lambert is clinical infront of goal, so is J Rod, our issue is creating chances in the final third, how often do we get ANY chances in the box this season ? Except for headers ? Sharp wont change that, Id rather the cash for a new decent wide man to compliment what we have, CB or GK

Im not saying he isnt as good as people are saying Im saying Ronaldo is a better player then the credit given to him. Goalscoring is always a difficult one too, Beattie scored shed loads for us, but largely because of the way he plays and not because of any real ability, dont get me wrong he was ok but nothing special. Personally I just think all round, looking at the player and just the player Im more impressed by Ronaldos mark on a game then Messi, as with Messi its usually the peak of a brilliant Barca move, where as Ronaldo its often something born from his brilliance. This takes nothing away from Messi, and Im not going through any 'great lengths' Im just looking at two players, who are IMO the two best players ever, and saying overall I think Ronaldo is better.

They play a sort of four four two though, I just dont think he is the man, why he hasnt given J Rod more game time as an actual striker I dont know.

Honestly ? I reckon we will get hammered by stoke. And our team as it is ? I cant see anything that coukd answer their blunt physicality. Seeing how Lambert has played against taller defenders this season though Id be inclined to go with J Rod

Sharp isnt the answer, Lambert is slow and not up for it but atleast he can win a few headers etc Lambert is as good as Sharp at poaching but has more about his game and fits the system better. So... If Lambert isnt working, how the hell will Sharp work ? Just because he is scoring goals doesnt mean he will suddenly do it in the prem, he scored goals last year. We need a decent GK, decent wide man, decent CB and if anything is left look at perhaps a new CF and CM.

Meh He has always done well in the champ ? Whats changed ? He did well last year and deemed not good enough so we let him go ? He is only doing what he has always done, our problem is a lack of creativity in forward positions, he wont change that and doesnt possess Mayuka's pace who now after one start is the new whipping boy (no surprise there) Cash in on Billy, someone told me we wouldnt get 5m, I think we could. He doesnt fit our system, end of.
