He is definately a better manager than many give credit, but I honestly think he has work to do. Its one thing making all these very public offers for top players, that from the outside seem out of reach for a newly promoted team (Jarvis excluded) its very much another actually going through with any actual intention to move forward. Added to the fact Gold has stated time and tine again they are looking to service the debt and days of big spending on wages etc are over. I may be wrong, but Im certainly not alone in my theory.

I really really doubt they have spent 6-7 million tbh, not from what I have heard from people ITK anyways, Maiga was no more than 2-3 million I believe and Collins although unknown was thought to be quite a snip of a transfer. Diame and Jaaskalainen were released from poor sides to, not to mention Nolans injury, Diame is supposedly injured and Tomkins was shown up to be poor in the olympics but then I wasnt amazed by him in the CCC. As per the supposed big deals Im not tge only one that believes its all just to appease the fans, I mean Tevez, Torres etc ? How many of those deals happened ? Especially as Carroll was apparantly agreed, funny how that fell through ?! Sam is a decent manager but he has a lot of work to do overturning a poor playing style last year to one conducive of the prem, IMHO they wont finish above us

Exactly Chez, if we bring back powell, pair him with Davenport and provide a midfield dynamic anchorman in the mould of Wotton I can easily see us quickly forgetting even the slightest hint of relegation.

I really cant see WHU doing that well, they have no cash for transfers and play some god aweful football, I think we are lucky that Swansea, wigan, Norwich and West Brom will probably all struggle this year. Although I am optimistic we will escape, its not unrealistic to realise why so many predict we will drop, personally I am pleased with our signings, if not slightly worried they wont have the experience for a dog fight

Fletchers price is high but dont agree with you at all Adrian, hell have a good season this year, look at his goal scoring record over past seasons, V good in the air aswell. Will be a top top signing imo, if a little overpriced

I take it your part of the "he is disabled so he must be able to compete with the top athletes brigade no matter what" then ? My issue isnt about his personal inclusion, jesus christ if he managed it legally than fair play, all I am saying is how can a pair of spiked springs with no physiological constraints of their own be deemed legal ? Would you allow a boxer with a metal arm ? A paraplegic swimmer with four paddles for limbs ?

All I sm saying is when I used to frequent this place I used to be one of the positive ones, I slso got my fair share of abuse because of this. But I am slightly worried about our situation, one that is of MASSIVE significance as its our first season back in the prem, IMO we still are players short, and even the players we have signed although I am v v impressed with are they definately of the calibre to keep us in the prem ? Young and hungry yes, but do they have the experience for a battle ? I dont agree with your sensationalism earlier saying its disrespectful, thats just mental. I do agree though that the timing is rediculous, surely to christ 2 weeks/3 weeks whatever before the start of the season, and all reports coming out of the club that they are still seriously looking at 3 players it is just not clever to go on holiday and effectively stall any oppurtunity to sign players.

No he shouldnt, full of respect forthe toil and graft he has put in to get to where he is but surely his artificial limbs are not strictly race legal. For me its more PC ******** as surely in reality they just want to say no but in the interest of not getting a slapped wrist by the looney lefties they allow what IMO is an uneven Playing field to carry on. Kit looks good imo but not v saints tbh, one season only please. Guly, Clyne and JWP looking promising, Lambert a little heavy and tired but I expect him to be fine by k/o, Fonte still looks shakey
