  1. Which is all tactical….how many of our 11 do you want bombing forward ? McCarthy ? Lyanco ? Andrew Sparkes ? Lavia and JWP are a double pivot, much like Romeu (who you could genuinely say was at times immobile) before him, although JWP has licence to push forward to occupy the space just infront of the 18 yrd box if numbers allow Its the way we’ve played for effectively 3/4 years now, even before that Wanyama sat deep… what exactly do you want or expect ? And is this what you mean by immobile ? Fir reference, we use our fullbacks effectively as overlapping wing backs, allowing our 10s to push inside, we do overly rely on our FBs for natural width as they don’t tend to add much… this changes slightly if we utilise KWP on te left as he tends to play as an inverted Wingback, so at times this season its allowed Sulemana to play wide with KWP moving with the ball more centrally I do agree we’ve been overly reliant, we have no real pace outside of KWP or Tino… KWP has still been progressive, but we just havn’t had any effective movement in attacking areas so he has nowhere to go when he beats a man
  2. We tried to bag Potter… I would imagine the answer will be the same
  3. Tbf it could be one of those Sports Direct mugs
  4. Im struggling to understand how a player with some of the best running metrics in the prem (JWP) is considered immobile either tbh
  5. Funnily enough he has still managed to be one of the best FBs as far as carries is concerned in all the T5 leagues, it is actually a stat that surprised me a little when I read it.. because like many have said its felt like he’s had a poor year overall Ive never thought he was a brilliant defensive FB but then the game these days is effectively full of these types, adding attacking intent from FB and lacking strength defensively I just think teams found us out, forcing us inside when we attack and exploiting our weaker flanks when we defend, his constant stop start through injuries and flipping from RB to LB probably hasn’t helped either Either way he is still one of our best players, likely in the top 3 and will probably be well sought after for anyone around mid table in the prem
  6. Calling JWP and Lavia immobile is quite the take tbh but here we are
  7. For about the 9 millionth time, its all agreed If he decides to tear up his contract now then I wouldn’t want him here anyway
  8. All of this and a very bad ankle injury that was probably caused, in part, due to his lifestyle and he just had no real motivation to overcome it He’ll probably end up in Saudi where he can sack it off and still earn a fortune
  9. It would of been a fantastic plan if we hadn’t of spent 200m to try to stave off relegation and, in the case of relegation stand to lose a minimum of about £130m a year in revenue I think, despite the fact they accelerated the decent due to ineffective leadership and decisions, they knew we were in for a bottom half scrap this season, hence the rhetoric around similarities between Prem snd Champ
  10. Ugarte, Caicedo and an in form Enzo is a ridiculous midfield
  11. Well it is pride month tbf
  12. Couldn’t write it eh
  13. Its widely reported personals have been agreed and apparantly he’s been to Staplewood already Im sure he is in contact with the club about what he wants, the players are currently away on holiday, there really isn’t a rush if its only a few days to wait for a cheaper fee I do get the clamour from fans to get this over the line but in reality this is all just formalities that I doubt have any significance to either club
  14. I think we already tried and were rejected The Martin deal feels like its done anyway, we’re just waiting to sort the fee
  15. Id be amazed and genuinely angry if Potter pitches up at Leicester
  16. I wonder how they would "read" the clause if Luton came in for Martin. It's clearly bollocks from Swansea. Well Id suggest they’d do their best to try to hang out negotiations but if Luton aren’t idiots they’d pay the agreed compensation figure whilst still technically and legally a Championship club 🤷‍♀️
  17. Point well made 😂
  18. The amount of people that don’t understand how clauses work from a legal perspective is spectacular
  19. Im just suggesting you don’t understand the legal ramifications of contracts mate There’s no time constraints, Swansea clearly don’t want to just hand him over, he has a contractual clause that suggests we pay ‘x’ whilst we are a PL club and ‘y’ whilst we are a Championship club Legally we are a PL club… its not hard to understand
  20. I’m going to go ahead and assume you’ve only ever done a paper round and mummy and daddy still read all the paperwork for you to sign mate 👍🏻
  21. Currently, as far as the clause is concerned, a premier league club So you’re either being thick or deliberately obtuse and Id suggest its not the latter
  22. He’s coming in as head of performance, after being head of athletic performance at various rugby teams, Id say if he is shaping the sports science departments then its not completely necessary to have a strong footballing background, its more important to be successful at building, as suggested, strong sports science departments
  23. Exactly this, of course, this is why the DoF hire has to be correct, but in a sense its just like hiring a good CEO in a commercial business, they are the head that will steer the ship Time will tell whether Wilcox is a good hire, but hopefully it avoids flipping from 3 managers that had vastly different tactical approaches, and in the January example panic buy players that don’t fit after a week… thats a crazy situation that has to be avoided SR have nowhere to hide now, we have a DoF (that we assume is competent) and are shaping the rest of the backroom in their image, that can only be seen as a good thing
  24. This is what we need to avoid, its an absolutely dreadful situation which just wastes resources Fans always harp on about how the manager should be picking the players, but ultimately the most important figure at any modern facing club should be the DoF who rightly or wrongly should be ensuring players, staff, manager etc are all pulling towards the same tactics/goal and so IF you end up sacking a manager, the players in the building should be able to be utilised by the next one
  25. Im not really sure Swansea are being dicks, we’ve poached their manager and the terms of his current contract state we owe them a higher fee, its a technicality but it is what it is, Im sure if we were in Swansea’s shoes we’d be saying ‘fair play to us’ Nothing is stopping them having conversations with managers (of which many are probably on holiday) and nothing is stopping us planning with Wilcox/Martin Just chill, the players aren’t even here anyway
