Never been a fan, he was a decent impact player for us, but nothing more IMO and i never saw a future for him outside of League 1. I understand that many many fans thought he was god, but then these are the same fans that slagged off Puncheons inconsitancy but then praised Antonios as being 'unpredictable' IMO most football fans generally don't look at the whole picture and don't appreciate the subtleties in football. But thats just me, FWIW i always thought McGoldrick looked better as a midfielder aswell.

Or the player has stated he is not interested and so they will not be taking our bid forward (after all whats the point) or the clubs in question would rather sell to a team in a different league and not promotion rivals ?? Or the bid accepted by Ipswich is actually quite a way overpriced but Ipswich have decided they are willing to pay and we are not ?? We are hardly desperate for goalscorers TBH, we have decent players. Perhaps we could replace connolly but certainly are not in a situation where we NEED a striker to provide promotion. Buying people in Jan was never going to be easy and getting a few decent calibre players was also never going to be overly realistic.

He really wasn't as great as a lot of people make out Tac-tics, technically he was pretty poor and had his fair share of poor games along with his good games. He was just quick and strong, ok for this league but as i said at the time i doubt very much he would cut it in the Championship or any further, it appears so far i was correct. Then there were the people that said he would be a premiership player in a few years, i am sorry, he won't. Would i have him in the squad ?? If we had Lallana, AOC and Punch all on form and wanting to play then no not really, he wouldn't get near the team. Would i want him now ? For anything under perhaps 100k then yes but not for the rediculous price Reading wanted. Aren't you a coach or something now ?? His first touch lets him down, and IMO you can't teach touch and technique after the age of 14/15 at the latest.

I still think the lad has quality. Though that said, we have a striker with arial power and a striker that is clinical, what we need is a pacey front man, i am not sure ALF fits that bill. But then, pacey front men are few and far between at this level.

Depends who you want ?? Before the window i was thinking keep Chaplow, Guly and Lallana and i will be a reletively happy man. Thats happened and i am, if punch is going we should have N'Guessan as a replacement, hopefully if AOC goes we may get another. We are perhaps a striker short in truth, and i am hoping for ALF. But lets wait and see, we are not their yet and most of the bigger deals happen towards the end of the season it seems.

Still, did you read my post about players availability and the problems with getting them here etc ?? I must admit, as far as the two people in this poll are concerned you have gone up in my estimations Dune, you have although shown yourself to be a little mental and slightly obsessed with politics you atleast have shown yourself to be able to get involved with banter and are at times interesting and funny. In the interests of fairness and decency i won't name the other poster, but he has shown himself to be as humourless, slimey and boring as i thought.

He is IMO a better all round player than Walcott was at the same age. Although 10mil upfront is a huge some of money and he will never move for that i do think that NC should play hardball and say £10mill please.

Other than that this is a great signing, Chez will be happy and i agree that Antonio was never anything special and appears i was correct hasn't set the world alight.

He came from a Serie A Side and i would imagine he commanded a modest fee TBF. If we were skint would we have realistically been able to make Adam put pen to paper ? Look at the pedigree of players here ATM, then think about the sorts of players you would have to try and sign to improve them. Take Pugh and Pilkington for instance, even if for whatever reason we did decide to chuck 5Mill at them, what would we say to them when they asked if they would get a first team slot straight away ?? Yes of course we will dump AOC and Lallana ?? No of course not, thats a major point too. The problem we have is that to buy players to improve the squad we would need to be purchasing players in teams battling for promotion (and so will be overpriced or a non starter) or teams from the NPC and convince them to come (if they are not involved in promotions/relegations) Its not rocket science to realise how hard a job getting players to come here IN JANUARY actually is at the moment.

I believe so. As i said in an earlier thread, he would have to keep his form up in order to keep the big clubs interested. A much better option then the loan back one IMO.

They only went for less because we financially fell apart TBF The original fees were about realistic.

FWIW i still think he has the best oppotunity giving Liverpool a crack, they have no wingers whatsoever, if anything he will have a better bet breaking into that team then any other. We are already lacking quality widemen with Puncheon being a spoilt brat and Lallana injured let alone losing AOC with less than a week left. That said, will he give us his all for the final flings of the season ?? If i were Cortese i would tell Arsenal to stuff it until the summer and tell AOC he needs to keep it up if he were to win Arsenals affections again come summer. Then leave it in AOC's court. That way it benefits us and maybe him.

I don't mind Deppo, don't get me wrong his constant spamming is at times tiresome but realistically i can just scroll up or down and go to the next post. Basically i enjoy the banter, i don't want the banter to stop, i can banter with you and banter with others. The problem with Hypo is that he snipes and then hides, he can't back anything up. He is quick enough to jump on the bandwagon but then complains when the wheels start falling off. Reporting, ignoring. He is a snake. Thats my problem with him, that and the fact he has out of his 10k posts never written anything of any real note.
