Best fans in the world + really great fans (Mackems) = 10,315 Poor old Southampton at home to poorly supported Ipswich = almost double that attendance. Those web footed wonders should be ashamed of themselves.

I must admit I did! It just seemed to be a perverse way of twisting the knife. Now I'm sober I see the error in my decision. Of course I'd want us to beat them every time. Apologies.

Better still, they beat us and on the Monday go belly up so we get a bye. Dreaming I know, it's just a matter of knowing where to stick the knife before twisting it!

For those who don't have Adobe on their PC, with due acknowledgement to the above website. SOS POMPEY! Portsmouth Fans United For Their Club PRESS RELEASE POMPEY FANS MARCH IN SEARCH OF A SAVIOUR! Wanted! One careful owner who recognises how the passion of the Pompey fans makes Portsmouth Football Club a football club worth saving. Hundreds of Pompey fans are expected to rally behind a fans’ protest initiative ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie with Sunderland to help save Portsmouth FC. Fans are being asked to march, rally and then sign a petition calling on the clubs’ current owners to sort out the financial mess at Fratton Park. The petition, which can be signed by all fans on Saturday, will be handed in by a group of young Pompey fans ahead of the match. And if the current owners are unable to come up with the finance needed, then fans are urging the present owners to sell up to someone who can. With a winding up petition hanging over the club, over unpaid tax debts, a transfer embargo in place and the salaries not paid on time two months out of the past three, fans are claiming enough is enough. A march is planned from the Guildhall Square at 12.45pm. Those fans will meet with another group rallying at Milton Park from 1.15pm. Once united, fans will then march to Fratton Park at 2pm, where a petition is set to be presented to the club by a group of young supporters, representing the future of the club. Spokesman for the protest Bob Beech said: “We are making our voices heard telling those in charge you can try and kill our club but you cannot kill our spirit. The protest also points out to any potential investor who may be waiting in the wings that there is no lack of passion with the fans.” And Pompey ‘super fan’ John PFC Westwood added: “We want to show everyone that fans are united behind this protest. We urge all fans to march, rally or sign this petition,” he said. “We are not against the new owner for the sake of it. If Ali Al Faraj can show he has the finance to take the club forward we would welcome it, but if he hasn’t he should step aside and allow someone who has to take over.” ends

Oooops! Done already!

And the prospective Mother in law will never get the son she always wanted.

I bet he still doesn't feel half as bad as the Skates do, and they have more to come!

Do Newcastle just make the cheque payable to Watford?
-
Right with the first guess. Just love the state of the roads down there. It's like the dark ages, floods all the time.

I work in Westhampnett.
-
And, presumably, no bells?

You could generally get a good row there with the likes of Dave Stewart, Gary Henderson, Nige Grace etc. in attendance. If memory serves it was the Wimpson Youth who provided the most sturdy test!

Believe me, after our sufferings during the last few years, it's the hope which really hurts and kills.

It's presumably better, although used far less extensively, than TCWTB.

All fair points Duncan, but I don't think the Tories or more radical right wingers on here are listening (or want to). You see, it doesn't affect their living standard, only their business or pleasure flights (if a strike occurs). If their job gets threatened or changed in a smash and grab action will they roll over and sigh 'that's life' and go find another job? They don't realise that the likes of you, with long service etc maybe could not find another job as good or well paid? To me it's a NIMBY attitude. What happens with BA now will open the door for all sorts of similar action whenever an employer sees fit. And all this with a 'Labour' government in power. God help us (apart from the well to do) if (when) Deadly Dave and his crones get into power. It's not improbable to see a few 'Winter's of discontent' looming.

And where, exactly, above Eastleigh, does Southampton sit in that list? Hatch, the Hospital (actually Maternity Home) was called Rookwood.

You, presumably, are the fount of all knowledge then? I knew I wouldn't have to put much meat on the hook. This was for those from the right, who replied in such a manner to some bemoaning the redundancies and possible closure of the local Ford plant. What goes around comes around. Sh!t happens, as we were told. Go live with it.

I was beginning to think that myself!

I had to!

How about keeping all the weapons (I'm sure the Forces would like that). How about keeping all the personnel (I'm sure the forces would like that) Just pay them all less (I'm sure the f. .woul...) Oh! And if they don't like it they could all buy themselves out and find other work?
-
Lol! There's less and less for us to vote for almost on a daily basis!

You have only got 5 of us interested so far. -
It's probably an intrinsic part of the debate. Why do we want to ban the burka? Is it because it can be put to use for illegal reasons, disguising a person's identity? If so then it's just as reasonable to bring in a ban on scarves being used for that effect, or hoodies for that matter. Or is it because some are 'scared' of it? Some people get, namely older people, get 'scared' of youths wearing scarves or hoodies. If so then might that also be a reasonable request? If the ban is requested purely on a religious ground then it might not have a safe passage through Parliament.
