  1. He has already been mentioned in this context on the radio this evening.
  2. I bet Ess has more imaginary friends than you!
  3. Just saying on Solent that the Ploppy Council have voted 13 - 4 against their World cup bid. And it's getting better!
  4. Talking of wind, have you bumped into The DullDaze down there?
  5. Is he a paediatrician then?
  6. May the farce be with them!
  7. Can MPs claim 'expenses' for fines incurred during the execution of their duties? Just a thought.
  8. Harsh words, not wrong and poignant, I have to agree with you. We've already bought all but our fresh food for Christmas. If we want more we'll go find it. We don't need these false Christmas scenes telling us that the shop has exactly what we know they have in stock. Reminds me of that guy in the social club. The one who stares or glares at you all year round but never speaks. Christmas eve dinner time there he is, p!55ed and wanting to hug you and buy you a beer. Two faced Twohat!
  9. Yes, you'll need a BT line to get sky B/Band. However, you can opt to pay the line rental to Sky as opposed to BT which works out slightly cheaper. Also, with the Sky telephony, if you pay an extra £5 monthly on top of your line rental then all calls, 24/7, to 01 and 02 numbers are free plus calls to at least 20 destinations abroad (don't ask me to quote which ones please).
  10. Considering this is the lounge I'm surprised you gave this the courtesy of an answer! WTF has your relationship got to do with this other poster? A poster who is clearly displaying a total lack of style. Obviously not an Apple product to enthuse about here then.
  11. I bet you anything they'll state it as 'working days' which 'will be a normal working week of Monday till Friday'. So! They're only 2 days late......quibbling barstewards. (Parcel Farce not you)
  12. Again, may I refer you to the use of the words highlighted and italicised. I think that the signings seem to have done well so far, I'm a little concerned with Trotman but my concerns are not necessarily Pardew's. Conversely, I really am getting to like Harding and his input while Connolly is a revelation to me. That's why AP is the manager and I'm just an ordinary guy on the street. I used the term I suspect because he (AP) will quickly identify any qualities lacking in individuals and whether they can be remedied by working on them or, ultimately, shipping them out of the club. He may well be happy with them all? However, as any manager would testify, he probably has his eyes on better players elsewhere. Players who may well fit in with his plans more so than others already here. AP is not afraid to admit his errors as we have seen in post match interviews. Don't take this wrong, I think we have a good team. Yes the players could always be better but I'm realistic enough to know that we'll not get the likes of Essien et al to play in this division. My fear is that if we get promoted will this team be able to stabilise in the CCC. I think they would struggle and we would need reinforcing very quickly. Whether that could be achieved in a close season (albeit a better one than last time around) would remain to be seen.
  13. I refer the honourable gentleman to this which I said earlier
  14. Charlton less our -10 = 10 points ahead Norwich less our -10 = 6 points ahead This ten point deduction will always, for us, be a hard penalty to overhaul. Those who thought we'd do it by the end of September/October/etc can now see the difficulty in doing that. So, with respectfully, a theoretical 10 point and 6 point lead what makes the difference? Quality of players, in my opinion, and a better close season than we experienced. If Charlton or Norwich get promoted will they just rebuild during the close season? Will they leave the team as it is? Their teams are, probably, better us all round. So they start from a better position than we do. I'd suspect that they, and others, will each buy (or attempt to buy) a couple in January and maybe a couple more in June/July/August. Not that they will spend millions, any more than we will!
  15. How many teams come down with a team decimated by low morale, lack of fibre and having had a few leave to better themselves. We had a manager take over with little or no notice of what was needed. I'm not asking for us to spend millions and millions. Just to take a long hard look at the players we have and to discard those not in our long term plans. Pardew has done well with what, at the time, was a limited time frame. I suspect that some of his acquisitions, and some incumbents, are not living up to his expectations. He needs time to move them on and build a stable team that will see us not only through a promotion but onward to stability in the CCC. What are you looking for us to do? Spend millions? Attain promotion with the current squad? If yes, are they good enough to maintain us through a CCC season without relegation? Somewhere, inbetween spending millions and buying a few better players, lies the answer.
  16. Faith in Pardew? Of course I have, what a daft, but not totally unexpected, question. Whether this current team could stay up? No, it would need more bods, and some a lot better than we have already. I don't think that we could build, and gel, a championship team during a close season. Which is why I think we should improve the team over this and next season. If we do go up this season I severely doubt we would have the correct depth of squad or quality to stay up.
  17. Can't they use the web between toes and fingers to count higher?
  18. I'd love us to get promoted. Could we rebuild the team during the close season, well enough to not come straight back down? I think not. I think that a steady rebuilding this season with promotion, hopefully, next season is going to be the way forward. This is me being pragmatic, not defeatist. We had a nice little run, with more to come. However it doesn't mean we'll get promoted this season, any more than a few defeats on the bounce mean we'll be relegated. This is going to take some time.
  19. A good read! You have a PM
  20. Mama Cass once sang "And it's getting better......."
  21. Are you saying that a customs fee of £10.00 suddenly balloons to £23.50 because Parcel Farce paid the customs fee up front? If so then that sounds like daylight robbery, £13.50 as an 'admin fee'? Ok, so they have you by the short and curlies, now it's Mexican Standoff Time. Pay up and collect or, if the prezzie is not of significant value, leave it to rot on their shelf until they decide to auction it, and not get all their £23.50 back? Then, when the GF asks where your lovely Fairisle sweater is, you can um and err while thinking of an excuse!
  22. You called?
  23. Exactly. Knee and Jerk come quickly to mind.
  24. And many miscarriages of justice!
