  1. Top right hand, about three squares off the actual page?
  2. Fools seldom differ.;-)
  3. Yeh, let's get the fences back!
  4. I don't thnk that the pitch invasions of c. 1975 were perpetrated by spontaneous 8 year old boys. Someone should gently tell this young lad that what he did was lovely and demonstrated how a lot of us 'grown ups' felt, but we musn't do it because it's not really allowed. Just because the lad ran on the pitch doesn't make him a little f'cker. No more than your comment makes you a grumpy old curmudgeon.
  5. Tearful here, had a bad day, car smacked by a pheasant on the A27 coming home, too much Irish, the roller coaster of a game and we do all the things that we couldn't do for the last few seasons. I love it, I faaaaaarkin love it!
  6. Now this I like!
  7. You really want to try explaining that to some employers, which is exactly why (in some places of work) the Unions take the hard line! No union can now incite it's members to strike. It can only, in discussions, give it's members the options of action which are available to them, the members. The members indicate whether they want a ballot on a strike. The union will not spend their money with all the costs of a ballot without the member's say so. The members then vote in that ballot. It's not the Union leaders or shop stewards who actually call the strike, it's the members who do. I'm not advocating who is right or wrong in this particular case, just stating that the Union have followed the due legal process, brought to Statute by a Right Wing Government.
  8. Oh!
  9. A STATEMENT OF CONFIDENCE IN THE BOARD OF PFC The time has come for those who support Southampton Football Club to make their feelings known about the chaotic ownership and top level management of PFC. After almost three months under new ownership, we still have no clear idea about the state of that club other than that it is in a financial mess. Creditors, players and staff are being paid late and short term loans being raised in order to try to meet running costs. The club is seemingly rudderless with anonymous owners who refuse to communicate with the fans. There is great anticipation that the club is being carved up and being bled dry by people who seem not to care whether they have a stable playing environment or whether its fan base is so wounded by the parlous state of the club that their passion and support is being sorely tested. It must be made clear, however, that every single Southampton fan supports wholeheartedly the board who, on a daily basis and under what must be severely trying circumstances, keep this great club running headlong toward the abyss. We salute their dedication. We have been told on several occasions this year by owners, prospective owners and executives that the club would be moved to new levels we would not believe. It is now obvious that Saints fans have had their implicit faith, in the boards and various owners, rewarded. We have not been deceived and the very future of Poopey is at stake. We make no demands, we simply want to see Poopey run by more of the same type of people with a style of honesty and integrity as previously displayed by previous boards. And on those three principles we say to the Board. "We Southampton fans place our CONFIDENCE in you"
  10. If the man designing the drawing board failed, what would he go back to?
  11. Trying hard to remember back to this, I was 8 at the time. I think that we did NOT have a white Christmas. In my mind it seemed to appear almost overnight. I believe it started either on Boxing Day or New Years Eve but I really can't be sure.
  12. You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be led. Stan Laurel
  13. The Echo had to 'spill the beans' for a...um...a..... What exactly did they have to spill the beans for? They will now seek political gain from this though and those who are not aware of how unprofessional the Echo can be at times will swallow it, hook line and sinker. I just wonder what certain posters may make of this also in an effort to besmirch the current regime in favour of those who have moved on from the sacred hallow that is SMS.
  14. That's not fair on Nick, even if I've been saying this myself for many years!
  15. His Mum loves him.
  16. Now that I do like!
  17. Oh yes perleeeeeease!
  18. Agreed, investing in Staplewood's infrastructure does send a loud message of intent. Imagine being a proud parent, being shown round such a complex with your son, ML/NC are going to make it hard for your family to say no to Saints!
  19. Poopey have never, ever, had a poor attendance. They are that VERY ODD exception.....:smt040
  20. Which goes to show that the owners are considering every aspect of the development. Keeping in with the neighbours is intrinsic to a new development and also will hopefully give little or no cause for concern or objection.
  21. Oh noes!
  22. Don't forget 19C and Corp Ho!
  23. Spot on.
