  1. Not even driving habits? I find that difficult to believe. I learned to drive at a comparitively late stage in my life (1991) but I have noticed that in 19 years the traffic has become heavier and people's attitudes have generally worsened!
  2. Let's hope that if you are unfortunate enough have a mental health problem you will find people with a tad more compassion than you indicate here. It would be sad that you are so unwell that you cannot 'pull yourself together'.
  3. Not aimed at you. To clarify: We, a generalism, sing 'Let's go ****in' mental' at matches. We, a generalism, use the term mental as in 'That gig was mental' We, a generalism, use the term 'So and so went mental when they found out' I, specifically, have used those same terms many times over the years. So it can devalue some people's perceptions of Mental ill health and causes even less understanding, or a willingness to try and understand and accept. If you feel I aimed it at you then you are wrong.
  4. I'd hazard a guess that driving habits have changed over those 30 years and, possibly, not for the better. More traffic on the road, a change of environment around the road, more residential housing? The road may have been down classified by the Highways Agency? All possible contributory factors.
  5. We all laugh at what we call someone's 'mental antics' etc but the vast majority of us on here do not have the blight of poor mental health affecting our family or their lives. It's far and deeper reaching than the stereotypical appearance of someone, heavily medicated and spaced out.
  6. Shhhhhh! StuBensonRantingSaint might read this and it will give him an idea for a thread!
  7. Pendant alert! I used to love that smilie of a copper with a flashing light on his bonce!
  8. This would never have happened in the army, civvy life is sh!yte. The more I read from StuRomseyRant the more vindicated I feel in my point that he cannot get to grips with civvy life.
  9. If a new applicant wants a seat and it is not occupied then the club will sell that seat. I bought two, as a new applicant, on the first day that tickets were available.
  10. You know full well that renting a longer ladder would not provoke a reaction on here.
  11. Read what I said again you trolling idiot.
  12. Wrong though this thought might be, what would happen if I went to Prague, succesfully claimed their I.B. and promptly returned to the UK to continue working?
  13. That is the activity which gets at people and does need stopping. The authorities do need to investigate exactly the 'incapacity' of each claimant and it's veracity. As previously pointed out there are cost constraints in doing that though. Maybe the financial hurt in doing so would be recouped in the long run though?
  14. I think the transfer merry go round will now get into full swing now that our interest in the W.C. has waned. Although I don't think that too many of the England squad made themselves a must have purchase for this time of the year.
  15. What if doing something/anything within the scope of their capabilities means they can't even afford to eat? So what if we get it wrong? The copious clouds of bluebottles will guide us to our mistakes. I sincerely hope that you are never unfortunate enough to find yourself in that position.
  16. That's clarified it and, not surprisingly, I agree with you! (Don't collapse in a heap) The feckless do need to be weeded out!
  17. Well said sir! Unfortunately Stanley/Dune/whateverhisnextnamewillbe does love to tar all those on benefits as feckless slobs. It's a very unfair and sweeping generalisation as you rightly point out. However, he will be back to apologise to you and any other genuine claimants of I.B.
  18. Fair comment Steve.
  19. The trio of Paine, davies and Sydenham was indeed a glory to behold to this, then, 9 year old. Sunny days at the Dell, when losing didn't really matter and all it needed was a few crosses from either wing and a goal from Big Ron to make it all complete. Paine had a cunning mind and his passing was intricate. In his prime when Sir Alf, sadly. decided that out and out wing play was not the way forward.
  20. It is strange, I don't disagree with you. giving up the chance to get the kids in, future supporters, etc. However, I feel that your message is/will not get through via this forum. If you do feel strongly, and your comments suggest to me that you do, then might you consider organising a petition (online) perhaps? I reckon you have the necessary skills to arrange it but, in my opinion, you are just p!55!ng in the ocean to try and warm it up by using the forum. I for one would sign it!
  21. You need to give it a rest now Stu, he's not listening to you and, in this instance and contrary to nature, a constant drip is not going to wear the Italian Granite.

  23. Granty & Baj did their best with the £138 Million that they borrowed for this business venture. A lot better than some other 'establishments' I might add!
  24. No, he got banned, reinvented himself, then rejoined. A lot like the Stanley/Dune trick really.
