Did you not report it? That's what the little triangle with an exclamation mark is for. I use it so that the mods get to deal with trolling rather than it get drawn out.
-
Sometimes you draw an equal response from others. On other occasions you just get stuck in without any need for it during a discussion. Today's use of scum was, IMHO, such a time and therefore trolling.

I think that Ponty is happy to do it in the open, hence his comment?
-
You've lost me there. Where did I state that I deemed his every utterance as trolling?

I don't know the answer to that and could only think that they were planning new school builds because they thought that they were needed? Possibly the actual labour involved would keep people employed as the country tried to claw it's way out?

Thatcher was driven against the unions by revenge. That is why, as you said earlier, banking is the only industry left in this country. It takes two to tango and the unions replied to Thatcher in the only way they felt they could. It is not just a case of 'it all being the Union's fault' that businesses upped sticks and went abroad. Thatcher couldn't protect the working man whilst getting all she could out of him. That's why it's easier to pull out from this country than in Europe.

Just so you know, Stanley, every time you start trolling and I see it I report your posts as trolling.

Back in 1985 I worked for a fantastic employer. Business changed and there were redundancies being discussed. Us sparks all sat down and realised we could save a job by either taking a pay cut or by chopping our hours to fight off the one redundancy. The management thanked us and said no. By the time I left, rather than get pushed, we had gone from 14 sparks down to just 6 including myself. For me, however altruistic our effort, it never worked. Management will, quite rightly, use times like this to cull their deadwood. But the comment was not really about job losses, more about how much can the working man take before they decide to fight the cuts and costs.

Mark/Marc Jackson - the great man is back
EastleighSoulBoy replied to fish fingers's topic in The Saints
I used to always look out for their results but after all Saints did for them their 'mock rivalry, skate wannabe, hate Scummers' attitude makes me think that Bompey's fans, in general, and MrLifelongCherryToodlePip thoroughly deserve each other. -
+1. Time will tell but there will possibly be a time when the working man has had enough and may collectively decide to take action across the nation. The clock is ticking.

Mark/Marc Jackson - the great man is back

Thanks Hammy! Still makes me laugh. -
The one sided conversation getting louder and louder . . . ?

TBH I was hoping that this line of thought would come up, I just wondered if others felt the same as me about. Thanks.

This is where I wonder about Skates winning the cup, Man City (eventually) winning something. Sure I'd be up at Wembley enjoying the day if Saints got there and especially if they won. How would I feel about it though, knowing we had 'bought it'? Presumably the same principle might apply if we storm and win L1? Maybe I have answered my point?

I was thinking of replying to this last observation because I'm really wondering if PL football is really that enjoyable? Then Thedelldays somewhat confirms my feelings. What really is the point? Is not wanting PL football showing a lack of ambition? Although as long as our owners are as sensible as they seem to be (cue a flaming from somewhere) maybe PL footy might be enjoyable with no wucking forries about money?

Ours arrived this morning. Can't wait for it to start.

And from that site: They really don't see the irony in that do they?

EastleighSoulBoy replied to TijuanaTim's topic in General Sports
They know the reception they are going to get. Not that it will worry them. In the slightest. -
Search for Resume in Word, if you have it.
