Phew! That took some reading. Some parts I understood, specifically their note that AA (not Griffins wording, they were more circumspect) does not seem to have discharged his legal duties to the creditors in an appropriate manner. Griffins sums seem to stack up, despite HY/AA not being forthcoming with requested information. AA seems to have 'dressed up' their predicament quite a lot and, in their short term of remit, Griffins have exposed that. I sincerely hope that all the creditors get to read this. Griffins have offered them their services. They have not cut PCFC loose without a paddle yet they have improved the dividend, immensely. Even Gaydamak should realise that 65% (possibly as high as 99%!) of £30m is better than 20%! This work from Griffins must surely be the straw that broke the camel's back. Creditors would be ill advised to accept anything less than what Griffins propose. PCFC should not be allowed to wriggle out of this one. Griffins work seems a fair summation of the situation. I suggest our resident Skates take a read. Your club will not die, punished heavily yes, but the club has been there before and can rise. If AA's now seemingly far fetched proposals are adopted I think that PCFC (or it's reincarnation) will find itself here again within a few years. If so they will not have the PL to deal with but an altogether stronger taskmaster in the guise of the FL (which by then will have tightened even further the rules and punishments).

It's a good job that nobody is quoting you both! Oh! :-?

I stand to be corrected but I think the vote is taken among those present? Those who do not attend are classed as abstainees and have no say in the matter. So, if correct, the CVA will only get accepted if 75% by value, of those in attendance accept. HMRC will most definitely be there. Again, if correct, the small businesses don't even need to attend? Am I counting chickens? :smt102

Remember that the 1% is 1% by value of the debt.

It's all a matter of perspective. They, in general, hate us with a vengeance more than we, in general, hate them. They don't understand why we don't hate them like they do us and they base all their arguments on their perception that we are jealous and envious of them (As if!). We just view them as a father would an errent son so we patronise them and pity them. We know that this thread gets the goat of some so it serves as a major source of amusement in the close season while we await our next wonderful season here at St. Marys. Try walking through their city in a red and white striped shirt and you'll be subjected to a hail of abuse. Then when their football fans see you! They do not get the same treatment over this way. Should their club go to the wall I just wonder which club will have the misfortune of their affections.

Installment plans cost the club NOTHING
EastleighSoulBoy replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
In time, should Saints be succesful, us fans will have the same arguments as the Mancs with Glazier etc. We will be priced out of going because it will be just too much for the average fan. Will Saints be able to lure the 'Prawn salad muching brigade' as Man U and Chelsea have? I can't see that but by then we will have been disenfranchised should Cortese ever decide to review his position. I have a good friend, in his 60's, who has followed Chelsea since he was ten. He tells me of when they won the League in 1955 and then sadly talks of how the Stamford Bridge crowd don't know their arse from their elbow with regard to players. Why? Because they are corporate fans, those drawn there for a nice supper, fine wine and hopefully to shake a few hands in agreeing a business deal. That's a frightening prognosis for our future as fans! -
Six pack? Meh. If we're talking beer then I can go one better, I'm more like a kilderkin.

A fair question but we were always, at some time, going to have to pay for the club being rescued. ML & NC are not doing this for the fans. They operate in a free market economy and will charge what they think they can reasonably get away with to recoup, over time, their investment. I think that they have made a mistake by withdrawing the installment plan. I always bought tickets on an as needed basis because I worked the majority of my weekends. My job has changed and I have now bought a season ticket both for my son amd myself. To be honest, with last season's performances and the hoped for promotion this season I thought that we would struggle to get tickets. We haven't and I think that is the backlash that NC is getting because of his grave error on the installment plan. I really did think we would sell 25k+ season tickets this year. I don't think we will now. However, I think that NC will realise the error and will reconsider his choice. Let's hope that he reverts to an installment plan.

My thoughts precisely. -

Subscribe to it and you get at least two updates a week into your mailbox. AFAIK Asda has consistently been the best value for fuel around here.

Oh yes we do! Stanley is urging us to start a union!

That might be a good basis for forming a union.

Oooooooops! You beat me to it!

It has also been my belief and hope. I still cannot fathom how the FL and PL have managed to set themselves out, over and above all other creditors when a club goes into administration/bankruptcy. The simple question ( already asked) is if they can do it then why can't any individual do it?
-
Didn't they, at some time during all this nefarious activity, actually mortgage some future payments against a loan? Maybe not parachute payments?

See you next season mate. Another two in your gang.

New training ground/players v cheapo ST in installments
EastleighSoulBoy replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
A good point but I was thinking more along the lines of a Credit Union or Friendly Society, although both those are probably well covered by the act also. So it leaves individuals to do it themselves then? -
You're not all there....either

New training ground/players v cheapo ST in installments
EastleighSoulBoy replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
The time frame must have been anticipated? I have been squirreling away the cash, as and when I had it, because I thought I'd need about £350 for my son and I. So I'm not far short of what I need. I know times are tight and sometimes things have to give which is why I thought most people would have put a little by each week. With that in mind, I wonder if the club would consider running a season ticket savings club for 2011 - 12? Then when the ticket prices get announced members can elect to pay their difference or even decline and get their money back. In our case £25 a month and the cake has a big bite mark in it. -
It could be construed this way: They are all in the doo doos, right up to their slimy necks. He is being seen to be imposed on them. In all reality it is so that he can ensure there are no loose ends, skeletons rattling around etc. etc. etc. So as not to implicate anyone remotely connected to the lillywhite PL!
