What if we have needed / decided that in order to be able to shift some players at the prices we can actually sell them at, ie. BBD, Edozie, Smallbone, Aribo and possibly one or two others, we needed funds in to make sure we get the 4 or 5 players we really wanted. Im disappointed MF has gone (wasn't actually bothered by TD!) BUT if we end up signing the likes of Azaz, Fellows, Sargent and one or two more, id say that ok!! We can all judge properly in a few days time.

For the sake of my sanity Im going to assume that the lack of quality and neccessary signings is dow. To the selling clubs "knowing/assuming" that we were going to sell Dibling (and possibly MF) and so they have been quoting higher prices because they expect us to have more cash. These next few days will be very interesting and I hope exciting. But Im not very hopeful!!

Presumably the main task for a 3rd choice keeper is during the week on tbe training pitch. I doubt he'll see a Championship match but better to have someone than no-one, especially if the club know AR is back next season IF we go up.

IF...we are not prepared to pay 15m(or even up to 20m) for Fellows or anyone else of that standard then we are unlikely to progress very easily. We need a few Fellows type who are decent in the Champshionship amd can still progress to PL level. Its not like we don't have the money.

Didn't Dragon say the loans caused us a problem when we went up? Presumably because we already had the players but then needed to use funds to keep them, limiting spend under PSR as a result for completely "new" and additional players? For this reason I suspect we will only or at least in the main (maybe one like Downes or THB) see loans for experienced players who we predict will only be here a year to do a job and/or will be really cheap if we choose to make them permanent next summer.

I think THB stays. He is good but is he going to be good enough for a top half PL team, certainly not yet. But with us he may turn into one over the next season. His value right now is less than I think its probabaly worth selling for as doubt we'd get much more than 20-25m. Don't know how long he's got left on his contract though.

Im beginning to think we will be far better than the general feeling is but this does depend on signing 4 or 5 players!!! GOALKEEPERS NEW 1st Choice 🙏 Bazanu and AMC as 2nd choice is "ok" for EFL LEFT-BACKS Wellington - looks like will be good and 1st Choice Manning - probabaly above average in EFL (below average for PL) Taylor - good experience, don't think we've seen his best! RIGHT-BACKS Bree - decent enough for this league Sugawara - again decent enough for EPL If theres one in tbe Academy coming up then that will help, but Stephens can play in an emergency, as can Edwards probabaly. CENTRE-BACKS THB - Hopefully stays as has some great qualities and will still improve in a well functioning team. Quarshie - who knows but looks like will be first choice? Stephens - very surprised by the contract extension, but as 3rd or 4th choice is 'ok'. More reliable in short stints of games, 3-5 maybe, rather than 15-20!! Would be happy if we sell. Wood - I think theres actually a player there. Shouldn't be 1st Choice yet but I think will be a decent 3rd/4th choice option this season. Sanda - hopefully a rough diamond Edwards - theres certainly a player in there. Still young, but as very slightly shorter than THB, Quarshie, and Wood perhaps less favoured by WS? Matteus Fernades - obviously off Tyler Dibling - I think he'll end up staying and being a top player for us this season Robinson - excited by this players potential Fraser - not bothered whether we keep or get rid Matsuki - dont know about him, but probabaly worth keeping until Jan at least to see how he goes, before maybe sending on loan NEW AM has been promised 🙏 FORWARDS Downs - looks really exciting to me, think he will be the main man up top along with Archer!
