Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
Saint-Beer replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Must admit, can't believe we lost that game. They barely touched the ball and the chances they had went it. Just one of those nights. I thought we played alright. Did miss the presence of big Vic but not too many poor performances other than Maya and maybe cork. -
Still think Gaston will be ok. I think pic his looking for a reaction from him. As poch said, gaston knows what he needs to do. So, 4-3-3 tonight? Ad's, Rickie and jrod up front ? Formation thoughts?

England can't control the ball or the game. Holding possession is a huge issue. Lallana did well. Worked hard and some nice touches. But goes back to my opening point, the way we struggled to hold the ball and move it gave Adam little chance to fully shine. No chance to run with the ball as he didn't get the ball in good areas. Just chased and pressed there defence. The midfield was nothing. Wilshire did well and my choice of captain for England, but Milner, Lampard were poor. Have to ask yourself how on earth Lampard has a 100 caps to his name. Jay looked nervous and didn't give the ball away, but played a touch to safe. Lallana offers a sublime touch, ball control, vision and work rate. Lallana and lambert still stand a good chance to go to Brazil.

Well chuffed for him. Always been a big fan and it's nice to see people eating there words !

talkSPORT: The secret to Mauricio Pochettino's success
Saint-Beer replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I would say we have an excellent playmaker in Morgan. Think they overlooked him greatly. Still, positive article overall. -
What a load of rubbish. He would fit in well into that arsenal side. Apart from Walcott's pace do we think Walcott has a better technique and football brain than Lallana ?! No chance, Lallana is a much better footballer. Be called crap at a top 4 club?! Laughable statement.
-
It's amazing reading through these posts. Still so much negativity towards AL. If he played for another team in the prem, then people would rave about his skill and technique. Not a top 4 player? I could see him fit in that Arsenal team no problem. Very gifted player who works hard for the team. As someone said, poch starts him and still our captain which speaks volumes. Every pundit raves about him so what's up with our so called saints fans ?!

Should MP be sacked if we don't get 3 points at Anfield?
Saint-Beer replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Is this a Joke thread ?! The posts on here get more and more ridiculous. 0-0 would be a cracking result at Anfield. -
Chaz, spot on. The amount of people giving Lallana stick is a joke. If he played for another team people would say what a talent he is. Seems to be our scape goat, who h is laughable. GET OFF HIS BACK PEOPLE.
-
Do we ever get any intelligent posts on here these days?? Ok, Jay had a poor game yesterday but the amount if people coming on here saying this like, "Lallana and j-rod are weak links" is a joke. Lallana is an extremely gifted player who is the only on with the ability to beat a man. His final ball is getting much better and all good chances come through him. The one on one mis control is so rare from him, people are being unfair. As for Jay, he is a young player learning the league and should last year what a talent he is. Did people get on his back then ?! Support the English talent in our team and stop this nonsense of getting on there backs !!

Daily Star: Adam Lallana is loving life with the Saints
Saint-Beer replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Top man. Technically as good if not better than Walcott and Ox, but doesn't have that lighting pace. If he can knock a few goals then he will be in a good place. -
Still no one gives him much praise ! First half quiet but second half excellent. Skills were brilliant and unlucky with the volley. Even improved end product in second half. To say him and gaston's place needs upgrading next is laughable. Too great talents
-
Yawn. Another slating as Adam as captain. He's fine, his form dipped with injury, naff all to do with being captain. You should be proud that a talented lad that's stuck by saints through thick and thin is our captain.
-
Is it possible to watch alot of saints games or is various prem games like sky ?
-
So a worth while post then Minty, finding out people are on his side ill say.
-
AL has just turned 25. That means me is about 2 years away from his peak as they generally say 27/28 is the peak. So that gives him 2 more years in the prem (hopefully!) before hitting his peak and thus gaining more experience. I believe his overall play is very good, just the finishing side that needs work. With confidence his decision making will be fine.
-
Glasgow_saint, article was a good read. Speak very highly of AL. Why do our own supporters miss this ? I agree, his talent should be encouraged. Bit of confidence and who knows where he can be.
-
I disagree and believe AL can be a good premier league player. To say he is out of his depth is wrong. How many premier league players have his technique? Not many. I agree he needs to up his shooting and maybe a few more assists, but last year was his first season in the prem and injury hit. I really think he can deliver at this level. Someone out there must believe this too ?!
-
I don't get this. Has bags of talent, can be a joy to watch but people on this forum give him a lot of stick. Ok, he needs to up his shooting but on his day can cause all sorts of problems, Liverpool at home for example. Even as captain, it doesn't stop other players from voicing opinion on the pitch or motivating a player. Why do these people give him so much stick ??

SAINTS 1-1 Stoke City // Post-Match Reaction

Don't blame the players bar Lallana being captain ?? How is it lallana's fault for being captain ?? Another bizarre and anti Lallana post. -
Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
Saint-Beer replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Getting a little fed up with the Lallana bashers. He played well today and make a huge difference when he went off. Even the saints fans gave him a cracking reception. Both Adam Blackmore and Dave Merrington raved about him and said he was back to his best. Ok his shooting needs work, but he oozes class and has talent in the bucket loads. To say he's the worse captain of the past 64 years is a joke. For god's sake, get off his back. -
Good read for the Lallana and Gaston negative fans: http://footballspeak.com/post/2013/04/01/Southampton-on-the-rise.aspx I for one am a big fan of AL and think he's done ok for his first season in the prem. of the top of my head he was excellent against Liverpool. A great talent who will get better and better, for sure. Encourage his talent, don't knock him.
