He is Ali Dia's long lost son. We have been mugged again. How embarrassing.

Who would we be higher under, Adkins or Pochettino?

To sack Adkins after the Arsenal, Chelsea, Villa games was outstandingly brave* chairmanship *for brave maybe read silly -
Do Saints have the best players in the world w/o an international cap?
rshephard3 replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Schneiderlin has clearly been as good at his job as Michu this season. Both outstanding players yet to be capped by their countries. -
Any pubs anyone knows of around Clapham that is likely to be showing this live tomorrow?
-
Absolutely right, the fact we wouldn't have done this 5 years ago doesn't mean it is the wrong thing to do now. The times they are a-changing.

If it wasn't for people like Kelvin sticking around, acting like proper pro's in a world of prima donna morons we'd still be floating around outside the prem. The short memory brigade are out in force here. Being integral in getting us to the prem (a £60 million transaction) is a huge achievement. Did you consider it might just be with a view to staying at the club in a capacity other than player? Cortese and co can't win can they, the one time a more mature player gets a decent new contract to thank him for service and do some coaching it's all "we want our hard nosed Saints back who don't give a s**t about anyone". Then when people have to pay 50p to park their car they throw a hissy fit and near on faint.

Can we lock this please. Sputhampton legend in "I hope we beat Norwich" shocker.

-----------Boruc---------- Clyne-Fonte-Yoshida-Shaw -----Cork-Schneiderlin----- ---JRod--Davis--Punch---- ---------Lambert---------- Can't see any real merit in Ramirez (away from home) and Lallana (Not recovered yet IMO). Reckon Davis deserves another start. My only question would be whether to start Forren over Yoshi but I know nowt about him so can't really comment. A huge must do better in this game. Lose this and we are right back in the thick of it.
-
Maybe both are best judged next season after having this season to adjust to the Prem somewhat. Think they could both be useful next season. I really like Lallana and think he's exciting but can't help thinking Ramirez has more potential to be a top top player.
-
Agree apart from Cork. Thought he was the only player who had woken up yesterday morning. At least for about 60 minutes when he unsurprisingly tired from making the running for about 6 players!
-
The problem yesterday seemed to hinge on Punch, Lallana and Ramirez all playing from the start. Personally, I feel 2 out of those 3 is ideal, with Rodriguez taking the other place. I've been critical of him since his move from Burnley but have really warmed to him over the past few months. His direct running and desire to shoot on sight is something Lallana hasn't brought into the Prem. He works just as hard and is arguably more adaptable with regards not playing in his favoured position. Thought he made a real difference yesterday and did his bit to try to flip the game on its head. And he stayed in position, something Lallana had failed to do from the first whistle (though first prize for out of position antics has to go to Fox who, even to my amateur untrained eye, is so so inept it's frightening. I can't understand how he can't just stay in a box in the left back position and move up with the others, infield when the ball is on the other flank etc. Truly embarrassing watching him play at prem level)

It's harsh to blame the fans for lack of support when most attacking Saints players couldn't even be bothered to move for one another. I'd say well done for another full house to be honest.

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
rshephard3 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Pards said Saints better team first 20 mins of each half. He loves SRL and told him early on in his Saints days he could play in the prem. Went on to praise Debuchy and staff at Newcastle as you'd expect. Very gracious and said our recent run shows our quality and is why we'll be fine this season. -
Te He He.. You cheeky little WUM you..

I salute your direct forum approach sir ?

Shaw must have taken a knock mustn't he? It shouldn't turn into a witch hunt but it is fair to say Shaw is very comfortably the best left back at the club right now. Sounds like Foxy isn't the only defender who's had a tough time today.
-
To let Debuchy in behind him then wave his arms around in the box? That's not scape goating, that's being poor at your job.
-
Unless Shaw had a broken ****ing leg he shouldn't come off. Fox is so so inept in the prem it's untrue. Should have got rid in Jan.
-
Assume this is a joke? Is the reason we are not above Man Utd in the league the refs and linesmen? We get an equal share of the same refs as every other team surely. The PL don't employ Sunday league officials just for Saints games... Do they?!
-
Yes. Reckon both teams to score was a decent bet today. Only listening on radio but sounds a really decent game.
-
Exactly this. Looked like a right laugh. The Barbour jacket, flat cap brigade of present would rather knock this for being gay whilst throwing penny coins at opposition fans from safely behind a row of police. Lets face it, football post 80's hooligan time but before the £50 million superstar Sky subsidised soap opera was just fun. Classic example of that. Fair play. You never know, there might even have been occasions when opposition fans could have a conversation without wanting to spit at each other.

Things you learn from interacting on the Saints Web forum.....
rshephard3 replied to St Lej's topic in The Saints
That Matthew Le God posts less than he used to and, despite his slightly condescending tone, the forum is worse off without his words (IMHO). Also that people often fail to notice when Turkish is posting his honest opinion. Or being a parody of himself. Or a parody of the parody. You get my drift. In short, we all hate to love this place. -

That many believe we can fill a 50,000 seater week in week out.. You know who you are! -
This all day long. Not even looked at the stats but when Lambert gets chances he takes them. Does much more for the team too. Can drop back, ping balls around hitting a six pence etc which Benteke just doesn't have.

MNF - super analysis if Citeh demolition on now
rshephard3 replied to adrian lord's topic in The Saints
Very fair summary. Bigged us up plenty which is nice as unsurprisingly most media reflection on this game has been City's mistakes. They showed very well how our pressing and desire forced mistakes. What a performance. We will be the fittest team in the division under MP with that style of play. Requires all kinds of movement off the ball.
