If anybody has a spare ticket or ideally two I'd be happy to pay a bit over - I'd driven to Southampton (from home near Norwich!) and stayed over to be there first thing in the morning...really would be grateful if anyone has spare(s)? Thanks in hope!

Any one got any spares please? - ideally 2, me and the lad but one is good...happy to pay towards delivering it or a bit extra for whatever reason. I'm staying in Southampton and was going to be at the ticket office first thing as I only live 30 mins from Norwich.

Listen to the man the man from Ottery - he speaks the truth! Look at the talent, look at the options, look at the potential that we have! A great time to be a Saints fan

We have three international team captains in the first team squad..Davis, Wanyama and Lovren. We also have natural leaders like Morgan, Fonte even and Rickie. Despite this I think we should stick with Lallana...he has shown loyalty for which he was rewarded with the captaincy and he doesn't do a bad job at all. With leadership all over the pitch we don't really have the need for an individual driver/character when they are there in abundance already. The captain's job these days is about respect and ability - communication from the touchline is done to whoever needs telling wherever they play. I believe that Lallana has that respect for his ability and he has been a constant in the time that every player at the club has been there - why change? I said in another thread that we, as fans, possibly take his talent for granted because we've watched it develop over the years whereas other fans look on with envy........................and he calls a mean toss-up heads or tails!

Rickie Lambert called up for England

Thank you Lord T...pictures now winging their way to both friends and skates :D:D -
Pure quality as a man, player and goal scorer. Genuinely so chuffed for and proud of him...Congratulations! I remember the interview as being something like 'and to Southampton Football Club, they've been fantastic for me from the moment I arrived' after dedicating it to his family...what a legend!!

One...and another who converted temporarily...or maybe permanently for all I know, dumped me for a bloke with a bigger Richard...(there was one and she found him...or was it a flash car?!)

Are people more interested in Wednesdays international now?
dronskisaint replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
I'm only interested now that RL has been picked for the squad - never been bothered when there's no Saints representation. Same applies to the other countries our players are picked for...utterly meaningless without a Saints presence. -
RIP to a man who had real vision, thanks for your legacy!

And the little village in Hampshire you come from isn't skatesmouth...methinks he doth protest too much!

- Really? They do wear shell suits up North?

Not sure I'd agree with either...I think he is one to watch in only his second season in the top flight so it's fair enough to single him out...I think we (well hopefully not me) take him for granted because we have come to accept his skills as the norm whereas other club fan forums often pick him out as a star. I do think he has more in his development locker that games and maturity will bring, particularly in terms of goals and end product. He made it look easy in the lower leagues but will have adjusted to the pace of the PL better for the season's experience.

If you could relive one footballing moment, what would it be?
dronskisaint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
'76 caps everything for me...years of being the butt of my glory-following mates' jokes eclipsed in one wonderful 83rd minute moment...I cried then, I collected my winnings - I'm not a betting man but couldn't bear to have people betting me on the result and admitting that they could be right by not taking it on...the partying and even a few minutes ago watching it i still throw my arms in to the air and get a lump in my throat about little 'Legless'... Much more recently when Jos scored that 3rd against Coventry last year and I believed, let myself believe, that we were up - phenomenal feeling and great celebrations afterwards... Many more, too many to mention but the ups I remember so much more than the downs! -

Is there anything that brings joy in to your life? He has more ability than Carroll will ever have and he's there because this ability has been recognised! -

Made up for him, absolutely made up!! He's not the future for England for the next ten years but what a recognition of his ability and his contribution to a team!! Arise Sir Ricky Lambert of Southampton (and England) -

You don't count skatey, he said fans of the same club....unless you and he carry your love-in westwards down the M27 together? -

Good attempt, sadly not even that will be simple enough for a skate with an agenda! Ask yourselves....if you were sad enough to want to go on the skates forums - whose style would you consider most appropriate? Cue a bit of name calling, denial...? I don't comment on content generated by skate WUMs -

Really - Don't feed the skates...they're not literate or cogent enough to assemble a real argument:rolleyes: -

Good summary - I go to St Mary's to be with supporters of my club and to support my team. On here there are a good number of supporters but also those who don't bear any relation to that description...they are the ones who will no doubt cry 'happy clapper' but as you say, there are enough good ones to make SWF worth the effort. -
