SR have been the common denominator here. Progressive and consistent deterioration in terms of squad quality, suitability and performances. I would still argue that we should have expected automatic promotion 2023/24, and whilst we got there in the end finishing 4th, it was in my opinion a degree of failure (however small). Then, as we all know they failed spectacularly last season, in almost every way. We have seen bizarre decisions, awful transfer activity, alienation of supporters, failure to mitigate obvious gaps in our squad. If this was over the short term I could perhaps think that maybe, just maybe it might be down to a shoddy manager or random bad luck/poor decisions. However, this has been sustained and total failure, repeating the same old patterns without change. In terms of evidence, for me it all points directly to the fact that until this lot sell up and piss off, nothing significant will change. I mean, I’ve been saying for several years about a lack of spine (GK, CB, CM, CF) and any effort to address has been half hearted (only Ramsdale ticked that box last season). How can the average fan in the stand clearly and easily identify the glaring deficiencies (in squad and club structure), but those in charge can’t? It can only be incompetence. I have absolutely no confidence that SR will ever turn this around. Despite the platitudes and sound bites, nothing changes in their approach (or the outcomes). I would be delighted to be proved wrong, but wouldn’t put my mortgage on it that’s for sure! I think our only real chance is for a saviour to roll into town to save us. Sadly, there aren’t many Markus’s around.
  2. Any increase will make our 4 not renew for the first time in 40 years. Price freeze and we’ll have to seriously think about it. They absolutely need to reduce significantly. Sadly, all the goodwill has gone, along with the connection between club and fans. And, I fully suspect those making the decisions are so deluded they’ll think they can spin anything other than a significant reduction
  3. I’m suspecting they’ll dress up a “price freeze”, or “small increase” as added value seeing as we’ll have “more games”. Given I got raped for a 50% increase on my lads ST last year I expect I’ll feel somewhat pee’d off. They’ll cite all sorts like cost of living, inflation, wanting to build to bounce back…..blah blah blah….After all, have they got much right since taking over?? Judging by the last couple of attendances they might be in for a bit of a rude awakening. Though I sincerely doubt they’ll have any kind of insight
  4. Long shot, but is it still available?
  5. I thought this app thing was supposed to make things simple and easy!?! Thank god I’ve got a season ticket card. Knew it’d cause issues, and I suspect this will only be the start of the issues
  6. Agree to a point. But in my view we are desperate for a destroyer…….in the mould of Wanyama to play alongside Downes, as opposed to a supporting actor. Oh, and a GK, ST as well please
  7. Pretty happy with my adult renewal, but quite shocked that my son’s U14 renewal has gone from £150 to £225 which is a 50% increase! A bit of a kick in the proverbials. In terms of digital ticketing, this is clearly about saving them money (which in principle I wouldn’t be opposed to). However, there will be season ticket holders who don’t have/use/understand/want smart phones, and whilst I’m sure they’ll have some kind of “fall back”, I suspect they’ll make it as difficult as possible to avoid the digitisation they are intent on. I have real concerns about how this will end up working, especially given their track record over many years of “struggling” with IT systems, seen as recently as the handling of the play off final tickets. I don’t imagine there will be many of our supporters who have full faith in the clubs handling of computer systems and anything digital! I fully expect to see carnage when the new season starts, and as mentioned above, there could be issues around phone charge, “IT” problems, signal, data connection and probably some others I’ve not thought of. I’ll do what I can to avoid this one I think
  8. I beg to disagree. No communication, random mailings that bear no resemblance to when you’ve actually renewed. Just some idea of when to expect something I’ve paid hundreds of pounds for isn’t too much to ask is it? Can you honestly tell me that you trust the ticket office (or their outsourced partners!)? My experience over many years has led to some keen distrust they’ll actually get things right and not f them up. I expect I’m not the only one.
  9. Mine came yesterday in the end. Seems to be the same shambles every year to be fair
  10. Cool. I’ll look when I get home tonight. Just don’t trust the ticket office not to F things up!
  11. Anyone got any idea when the club plan on sending the season tickets out?
  12. So, with the hints (through messages and emails) of impending season ticket news being released for next season, what are peoples thoughts? I’m going with a £50 increase, although I think they’re already plenty expensive enough!! I just can’t see another price freeze, but I’d be happy to be proved wrong. What with the cost of living crisis I think the club will need to be very careful with their pricing structure for next season
  13. Seems I was right Charlie 😉
  14. I hope your right, but I believe it will be a back 3 with wing backs. I expect an unusual/surprising choice for one of the wing backs. My views on this are reflected in my comment where I’ve said I’m unsure how I feel about it. I’ve never particularly liked seeing us play with a back 3 if I’m honest. although I may be wrong of course
  15. It will be a back 3 tonight, with wing backs. Not sure how I feel about that TBH
  16. Nope. I think it’s just a simple equation of it being used in the way we all thought it was going to be used in the first place. A bit of competence and common sense thrown in wouldn’t go amiss either. I think one of the big issues (in addition to the lack of competence) is that rules and interpretation keep changing, seemingly on a whim in response to someone kicking up a stink about a decision that didn’t go their way. Wasn’t it always previously the case that rules and regulations changed during close season and officials along with clubs got the time to get their heads around the changes?
  17. Well, got something from the club, but it was a debit rather than a refund. Someone has balls’ed up and charged me rather than refunded. Hopefully I’m the only one
  18. Good point. I say though just be clear, open and honest. It’s not difficult and I’m pretty sure most people would accept that. If they’d said we’d get a pro rata refund at the end of the season I personally would have been fine with that. Just don’t play with words and deceive. That really does destroy trust and good will
  19. Has anyone had a refund for the Spurs game yet? According to the clubs ‘promise’, refunds would be paid within 14 days of an announcement that fans weren’t allowed to attend. Now, by my reckoning it’s now 16 days since the game was played and it was announced before then we would not be able to attend. Therefore, they’ve busted their promise apart on the first game!! Now, I’m not hugely worried as to when I get my refund as I can live without it at the moment. The key issue for me is more of a moral one, in that we were promised something which has clearly turned out to be a load of rubbish. One thing I was always taught growing up was only promise what you can be absolutely certain you are able to do. The trouble is it damages trust and will undoubtedly make people think twice when the club promise something else in the future. Could they not have at least sent an email out or something if they were having problems? Communication is key, and on this it’s been p i s s poor.
  20. Was that not his namesake Tarik?
  21. I’ll see you Bierhof, for a Gary Lineker at a chippy in Swaythling!
  22. Love the responses fellas. Perhaps a bit of a Freudian slip. Seriously though, I got told this earlier (clearly a crock of ****). Just disappointed my dreams of a strong mobile goal scorer seem to have been dashed again
  23. I came on her excitedly expecting to read all about Charlie’s transfer to Hull. Nothing FFS! I’ve been hoodwinked!
  24. Maybe he wants a longer contract than we want to give perhaps?
  25. Without doubt Preston away in the Championship. It was on a Monday night, live on TV and only a couple of hundred of us there. It wasn’t so much the low temperature, but the wind chill that made it horrendous. We got stuffed 3-0 as well. I also remember regularly freezing my tits off in winter at the Dell as I used to wait at the turnstiles until they opened 2 hours before kick off so I could get straight in and bag my usual spot in the upper Milton. Spending 2 hours in the ****ing rain or freezing cold takes me back that’s for sure.
