I found when I was at school that the best teachers were the disciplinarians - the teachers who ruled the classroom. There was never bad discipline in their classes and personally I enjoyed these classes because you actually learnt something. The sad thing is that the said teachers were all "old school" and I expect they've all now retired to be replaced by Liberal types.

Precisely, the public sector is geared to attract those who's outlook of working life is to plod along and then draw a grossly inflated pension.

Johnny the simple truth is that becoming a teacher and becoming a public sector worker is a life choice in the same way as becoming an Incapacity Benefits slob is a life choice. In essence becoming a teacher/public sector worker is the easy option so it stands to reason that they attract those with little drive or motivation.

Believe it or not I once went school as did everyone else so everyone is in a position to comment on this sort of thing. The thing is good teachers don't get abuse from pupils. That's not me having a dig, just reliving how it was when I was at school and if i'm honest I wasn't a model pupil. I know times have changed and 13 years of a namby pamby Labour government are certain to have made things worse.

I wasn't being funny, I feel sorry for you. You can't have that. No way. Unless you nip it in the bud you'll have no future in teaching.

You're right, it is ploy to expose the double standards of the pair of you. You think you're some kind of leftwing angel, but you cannot bring yourself to admit that discrimination against the disabled is no different to discrimination against another race or religion. If someone on here was to use a derogatory term to describe an Asian you'd be horrified and would go running to the teachers (or mods in this instance) as fast as your little legs would carry you, but when your "mate" uses derogatory terms to described disabled people it's just "wrong" and as far as you're concerned that's the end of it. You really need to take a long hard look at yourself before you start preaching from the pulpit.
