IT’S going to be the biggest party for Saints fans ever held. A team of diehard Southampton fans have hired a huge 2,000 people capacity nightclub for a big party just metres from Wembley Stadium. Organised by Saints Trust chairman Nick Illingsworth, the day’s entertainment at Silver Spoons will be compered by Damon Heritage, pictured in tears ahead of Saints FA Cup final trip in 2003. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/johnstones_paint_trophy_2010/5071135.Saints_fans_plan_to_party_at_Wembley/ Why does Illingsworth still parade himself as chairman of the Saints Trust when clearly they have a handful of members at best? On the shambles of a website it states they 834 members which is clearly ********.

I'd have thought they'd have gone for the Wotte/Portvliet dream team. It just goes to show how little some people know about football.

I notice Pompey aren't joining in the fun.

Open letter from Iain Coucher 29 March 29 March 2010 From Iain Coucher, Chief Executive: Network Rail has been advised by the RMT union that it will be calling its members out on strike between Tuesday 6 April and Friday 9 April. I am very aware of the effect that this will have on you, and I am doing all I can to negotiate an end to the disputes to avoid a strike. If there is a strike, some trains will run: many of our people will want to work as normal. The way in which this strike has been called – targeting morning and evening services – is designed to maximise the impact on passengers, and so I regret that on many lines, there will be considerable disruption to your journey. I apologise for that. I want to explain the two entirely separate disputes which the RMT has coordinated to cause you the most difficulty on your daily journeys. The RMT claims that this is about the safety of passengers and rail workers. It is not. We do not negotiate on safety – it is at the heart of everything we do, and we will accept no compromises. The Office of Rail Regulation has now confirmed that it is satisfied with the proposed changes. Our signallers are seeking reassurance that in the event of future changes to how we work, they will be treated fairly. We have told them we do not plan to change any of the long-standing agreements which provide exactly that protection. In addition, we have presented plans to modernise our maintenance work. They have been rejected by the unions – so we want to work with them to find a compromise. For both disputes, Network Rail has worked very hard indeed to make reasonable and worthwhile offers to the unions so we can negotiate an end to their disputes. I don’t believe any of those offers have been considered seriously by the unions’ leaders during our many discussions, which also involved ACAS for two days last week… or they wouldn’t have called a national rail strike. We will keep trying to help the unions and their members understand our offers to avoid strikes: but they must want to negotiate, and not just make empty gestures about talking. Iain Coucher

Most women that like football tend to be overweight, replica shirt wearing, pint drinking, gobby slappers.

I've met Douglas Hurd - true story. If only all politicians were like him.

You know exactly what pav is saying. The general public voted in the Socialists led by Tony Blair. That was the package that was voted for. Not the Socialists led by Brown.
-
You're having a laugh. Nick Illingsworth often talks about Saints fans thinking this and that followed by his own view.
-
Illingsworth was spouting off to his media buddies in favour of Lowe!
-
That was then, but much like with the Saints Trust SISA stopped being a supporters group and existed merely as a name used by Richard Chorley and Perry MacMillan to big up their own opinions.
-
Everyone enjoyed the day, but they still have a right to complain about being ripped off.
-
Turnstile A has a bit of a reputation.
-
The saints Trust is just another SISA, no members yet Illingsworth and his cronies still use it as a platform for promoting their own opinions. I had no idea that this COYR thing had anything to do with "that lot".
-
If there is a hung parliament there will be policy stasis, infighting, indecision, all of the things that you do not want when you are dealing with the mountain of debt our country has. If the Socialists get in again it'll be bad, but if either the Socialists or the Conservatives have to work with the wishy washy Liberals it'll be a disaster.

There were a lot of fans at Wembley that had travelled from accross the country and abroad. In my hotel there were two Irish saints, father and son i think, that had traveled to the game without tickets. Cup finals bring everyone out at the same time. Leyton Orient at home is never going to have that effect.
-
Is it just me or do the two highlighted statements contradict each other?
-
No fixed penalty notice? mmm, sounds a bit more serious than a standard slapped wrist (3 points and a £60 fine) then. Reckon you'll be looking at 6 points, bigger fine, and nice little code to tap in when you go for insurance renewal.
-
You can sometimes push your luck. The more coaches you organise the more chance somethings going to go wrong (especially with the clientel you are aiming at). And as the organiser you'll be responsible.

Having experienced the delights of Harlesden and given it's proximity to Wembley i'd say it's highly likely that Silverspoons is gang controlled.
