  1. But you can apply that to lots of different positions across our squad, that would mean we don't sign anyone. Having a transfer policy built around what players might or might not be like in a year or more is ridiculous.
  2. Across the Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese Leagues, I can't believe we couldn't sign a good quality, permanent left-back. All transfers are a risk, does that mean we should only ever take out loans? If Bertrand wasn't from Chelsea, but we were signing Aston Villa's average left back from last season, no-one would be impressed.
  3. Given the resources that should be at our disposal, we should at least have got a player that would be available for every league game next season.
  4. Partly answered my own question, doesn't look like he's played any pre-season games so far this summer, can't see him being involved tonight on that basis.
  5. What sort of loan fee will we be paying for him out of interest? Does anyone know if he's played much pre-season? Likely to start tonight?
  6. Why would he shed any tears? Just a mix of opinion on his ability as a left-back, pretty fair and reasonable for any new signing and the majority of comments have been fairly positive.
  7. Cheers. Bit of an indifferent response throughout.
  8. Proven in the Premier League?
  9. Stick a link up?
  10. Good point. Those game will be fun I'm still happy to wait a few weeks to see what the board and Koeman can provide in terms of incoming players, but this is pretty underwhelming, both from a playing and PR point of view - sell your left back for £27m and replace him with a freebie on loan for a year that has hardly played any PL football.
  11. Official club twitter.
  12. Bloody hell, that's a disappointing anti-climax. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_217 using Tapatalk
  13. Who knows. Just seems weird for it to be reported as so close to complete, then for him to come out with that.
  14. Where/when is that quote from?
  15. Twitter seems full of these weirdos. What's more worrying is people taking an actual interest in what these characters post.
  16. Looks like Taider on loan will be done soon. Decent player by the looks of it, not qute sure where he'll fit in though.
  17. Are ticket sales still limited to 4 per transaction?
  18. Spurs aren't, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are. How a player choosing to play for one of them is construed as being "in it together" I'm not sure.
  19. One player leaving hasn't created a domino effect. How is pushing for multi-million £ moves to CL clubs being "all in it together"?
  20. What exactly is the definition of a "bust up"?
  21. Why is it unacceptable? Schniderlin had a great opportunity of a month away with the French Squad to cement his place.
  22. Do we know if he has been promised anything?
  23. He didn't have a place in the squad last season despite us playing good football. Did he not do enough over the World Cup campaign to impress?
  24. So it might save Saints a couple of hundred £ks, but doesn't really change anything else.
