  1. Who knows. It wouldn't surprise me if our performance related pay was very heavily weighted towards league performance, it has been the over-whelming culture of the club for the last 4 years or so.
  2. You seem confused, but his posts aren't confusing. No-one is claiming MP "threw" the game, just giving good reasoning as to why a league position might be so much more important for our manager, which is a pretty good explanation for me.
  3. I've got no idea at all whether that clause exists or what the details of it would be, but it's not unreasonable to expect managers to have some kind of performance linked pay in their contracts and it really wouldn't surprise me if ours was based on league position. Doesn't seem hugely unlikely does it?
  4. I agree and have been critical of JWP since the start of the season, just doesn't look physically developed enough to have an impact at this level, but I can't see us putting him out on loan. It just doesn't seem like something we do for any of our players that we intend to have a part to play in the first team.
  5. Where is the belief that we were going to win the cup? There is just the commonly held belief, that given the position we find ourselves in, we should have made every effort we could have to win it; we didn't and that is what has disappointed so many.
  6. Goes without saying that Lambert should have buried that sitter, but the tone of the day was set from the point the teams were announced and it was reflected in our performance, the two go hand in hand, the attitude of the management and the focus and performance of the team. I thought Davis was hit and miss all afternoon, some good saves and poor kicking, similar, but worse than Boruc, but most important is the confidence it gives the whole team, the difference between the two keepers.
  7. Are we currently in a relegation battle with a Wembley final coming up shortly?
  8. think he just put something about being "back on the plane hone now" or something, guess those with the long trek back by car/coach/train took exception to his perceived smugness, unnecessary really as it's not like that was his intent, although probably a good idea for players such as him to lay-off twitter at such times!
  9. What happened?
  10. Felt sorry for Hooiveld at the end of the game, seemed to take the criticism from the fans personally, certainly not how it was intended from those around me.
  11. You've got to be kidding?
  12. We haven't played 3 times in a week though. Why did Tuesday night take priority over today's game?
  13. Well the whole of the South West Trains network being closed this morning has definitely not got things off to a good start! Tough away day to get to at this time of year.
  14. All the way up to about 2009.
  15. OVer a thousand for a midweek game in that part of the world is excellent, not like it was a new ground or a vital game or anything like that. Don't thik we'll have too many travelling tomorrow.
  16. I still expect them to put out a pretty strong team - the likes of Giaccherini are still strong players to come in.
  17. Did you watch our game against Arsenal the other night?
  18. Which game was that? Yeah CUp games, when we rest players and use Perez for press work.
  19. Probably because the games that we have played a weakened team in are also the games that the assistant manager has conducted the media commitments.
  20. But Shaw isn't the best left-back in the Premier League currently?
  21. Smalling played the 2nd half at right back last night didn't he? As I say, it's a combination of playing regularly or being versatile. For what it's worth, the selection of Cleverley is ridiculous.
  22. There's no reason for any of our side to be particularly tired, none have played an excessive amount of football this year.
  23. Fair enough. Which players do you think looked particularly tired?
  24. Not really. Playing week in, week out for their clubs is quite rightly an important thing for Hodgson, as is versatility across the back 4, he seems to be taking both factors into consideration.
