  1. Shows it's hardly rocket science for it to happen though. That is how the game will eventually end up, once all these f*****g money men p**s off and find a new toy.
  2. Nabil Hassan now reporting on twitter that Adkins found out he'd been sacked when he saw it on tv. What are the thoughts from the Cortese worshipers on that?
  3. I look at a club like Swansea and see that as a model for what our club could be like, successful, but still very much tied into it's fans in every way.
  4. And our situation is very different anyway - will anyone be booing one of players (like Torres)? No. Will many boo the manager? No. Have the anti-Glazer protests at Man United affected their on the field performances? No. It's just MLG trying his hardest to protect his hero. You have to admire and respect that, if only NC had shown the same loyalty to Adkins.
  5. If it happens, it happens. Cortese shouldn't have been so quick to p**s off the fans then and should have valued their support a bit more, don't you agree, if that is indeed the case?
  6. I've asked you this earlier and don't think you've answered it - You say like Chelsea? Will we be booing our own players (Torres etc)? Will we be booing our manager? Most likely not. So its nothing like Chelsea is it. The team will have our support, no-one has suggested otherwise. I think even taking footballer's limited intelligence into consideration, most will understand why fans might be venting their frustration at the Chairman. Oh and how have the anti-Glazer protests, songs, scarves etc affected Man Utd's recent success on the pitch.............?
  7. There are a fair few posts on here that seem happy with the change of manager as it'll help us "take the next step up" or whatever meaingless phrase they happen to use. Agree with most of the rest of your post though, the Saints Foundation is very good and deserves all the credit it gets. I just think on very rare occasions, letting the club know how we feel takes precedence over the next 3 points.
  8. Why does it need to "solve" anything?
  9. Why is it "pathetic"? Wouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility for NA to leavy Scunny and end up at ours regardless as who took us over. And anyway, that's not really the point is it.
  10. Posted this on another thread, sums up how I feel about the whole current situation: The club took away the season ticket of a long-standing, loyal supporter for disagreeing with our ticketing policy - some on here lapped it up and didn't care. The club p****d off and got rid of a load of loyal hard working office staff - some on here lapped it up and didn't care. The club treated absolute legends such as Matt Le Tiss like s**t, many didn't care and lapped it up. The club got rid of the people who'd been selling programmes on their behalf for the last 20 years through thick and thin and replaced them with expensive agency staff - some fans lapped it up and said they didn't care. The club have now got rid of one of our most successful, popular and genuinely likeable managers in our history, having negotiated his replacement while he was working his socks off to get us results - and some fans lap it up and don't care. Thats fair enough, but its not how I want my club run and I'll be using the Everton game to get that point across. If you think that means we'll lose 3 points, I can live with that, we've lost 3 points before and we'll lose them again.
  11. No we weren't. There have been clubs in far, far worse situations than us that have kept going. Liebherr and NC got us at an absolute bargain and fair play to them for doing it. Doesn't mean we have to accept EVERYTHING NC does.
  12. If it's the sort term cost of letting the club know how we feel I could live with that. I don't want us to drop points, but looking at the bigger picture, a few points here and there aren't the end of the world. And its not the same as Chelsea - we're not going to be booing any of our players (Torres etc) and I can't see too many people advocating having a direct dig at the new manager - can you?
  13. Yeah, that's what he wants. Chasing Champions League football with a ground full of football tourists who won't dare say or shout a thing against the club, loves the "business" aspect of football. Sums up all that is wrong with modern football fans.
  14. Along with most other fans I know, I'll be singing about Adkins on Monday night. Its a sad day when the likes of Chelsea appear less plastic than some of our fans that will accept anything their chairmen does just for an outside sniff of the Champions League. Classic modern day football fans.
  15. No, you don't have to roll over and "accept" anything. Plenty of managers, even quite successful ones are never taken to heart by the fans. It's not just about winning games. It's a sad day when Chelsea fans appear less "plastic" than ours. At least they've won a Champs League etc, but still they're aware they've lost their club; our fans seem to roll over and accept anything just on that we might one day, just possibly, get a shout at Champions League qualification.
  16. Why couldn't this have gone on one of the hundreds of other threads already started today?
  17. Yep, the middle classes love it, cheap waiters, plumbers, nannys etc, regardless of the fact it completely prices out many of the British working class out of the employment market. Very different if you're renting a room, living 5 to a house or trying to support a family etc.
  18. Bet they won't. Few years maybe, won't be a few games.

  20. Some? I counted 2 players out of a squad of 25+.
  21. If we're going to be pedantic it is partly his fault. He chose to enter negotiations and accept a job that Adkins was still employed in. That might happen a lot in modern football, don't make it right though.
  22. Because they might only have a passing interest in Saints? It's a pretty fair assumption to make for the media that if they speak to a 'supporters' rep' they should at least be a proper fan, up to date and engaged in the latest issues.
  23. Right, so they're a Supporters' association rep, same as you get at all clubs and they've said nothing you disagree with, but you'd rather they interviewed a random walking the street who might only have a passing interest in Saints? Ha ha!
  24. They don't claim to represent all fans. They are a representative of Saints support. Put yourself out there then. You'd rather they stopped and spoke to a random out doing their shopping? You still haven't said what he's said or done wrong?
