Well considering how he's performed against English teams in the champions league recently i disagree. Considering how he scored all 4 in Barcelona's 4-1 win over Arsenal, and could have got a hat trick in the first 20 mins in the first leg if Almunia hadn't been on fire. not to mention scoring the clincher against Man U in the final the year before, with his head interestingly enough. Year before that against Man U in the SF he was skinning Scholes and Evra alive all night, and was almost single handedly dragging a very poor Barce through the second leg. Messi and Ronaldo are as effective as each other going forward, Messi sheer brilliance and speed on the ball means the only time physical muscle comes into it is when someone is fouling him and has already been beaten. It's what his game is all about, off the ball he's just too good at drifting into space even when being man marked, receiving the ball and driving at defenders/defensive midfielders. He gets around physicality by always being two yards away from a physical opponent. The Spanish teams try and kick him but they rarely succeed. Ronaldo probably has similar ability in this department but his problem is himself. He dives too much and goes down too easily far too often before doing something brilliant. Messi has a far superior work rate. Meanwhile Barcelona have just gone 2-0 up in the El Classico

Messi everytime Their about as effective as each other going forward when both on top of their games, but Messi does it more consistently. Also when Messi loses the ball he chases back and acts as an extra bod in aid of his defence, whereas Ronaldo falls over and waves his hands around in the air demanding a freekick

it certainly hasn't wowed me overall like the previous versions have. It's almost as if 12 months ago a factory burnt down somewhere which contained all the designs for how the menus and B spec are laid out and they had to do all of it again from scratch in a hurry. yesterday i went from difficult-to-navigate menus you can hardly read without zooming in, to a visually stunning licence test where I had to race a Murcielago with psychotic handling down a road course at dusk. looked absolutely beautiful when it showed the car just before i started

Blimey, a Daily Express campaign that doesn't involve Diana
-
One thing I am a bit mystified with is the in race graphics. Their either poor or amazing depending what you do. B spec their worse than GT4 on the PS2, but do a practise run in a Ferrari 458 Italia and their incredible Anyone else raced on Special Stage route 7? What a weird track. Takes 5 mins to do a lap and for about 4 mins 45 seconds you are full throttle. Also did the Nurburgring Nordschleife layout which links in with part of the GP layout.

Depends if it's relevant to the topic

TBF 90% of those were done during the tenure of Poortvliet when we were 3-0 down with 15 minutes left, and Poortvliet would still stick with 1 striker

Neither are great really. I prefer Merrington but he's a bit full of cliches. Also you can tell Saints are playing well when he starts whispering. From what I've heard I've been impressed with Awford on the Pompey games, when I'm supporting whoever their playing obviously. he seems to genuinely have a far better grasp on what is actually going on down there behind the scenes and tends to tell it how it is.
-
when is the draw?
-
I don't because he hasn't been involved in the club for well over 18 months now. Maybe you should have another look at this thread and a few others and find out who it was who first brought him up and keeps consistently bringing him up in unrelated threads.
-
A friend of mine had this happen to him. He basically said to the bloke "Go ahead" because he'd already reported the accident to the police. He then reported the phone call but I don't know what happened in the end.
-
Anyone here bumped into someone's car, left their details/done it by the book and have the the car owner ring up demanding you pay them x hundred pounds to repair the "special type of part x" etc.and threatening to go to the police if you don't?
-
Fair play, Personally I'd have just taken the bloke's number if it had caused any damage and if possible a photo. But I can understand why he did it. Wonder if the bloke found it so funny when he saw his own car door
-
depends if the repair cost was genuinely 250 quid
-
I don't have an agenda regarding leftback LOL I've barely even mentioned him because you changed the subject of the thread somewhere
-
Absolute rubbish Because leftback did it repeatedly It really isn't difficult to understand. You also don't think other things like leaking team line ups and personal situations between players (re: Puncheon)/Adkins on here had anything to do with it? No of course not it's all a propaganda conspiracy by Cortese, who just so happened to miss the thousands of threads/posts bashing him when he got rid of Pardew. Posted by hundreds of Cortese bashing posters who are still freely posting on here. . . . This is a free forum that is moderated by people who give up their own time and money to do it. If you want to think that this forum is run as an anti-Lowe/pro-Cortese utopia that's up to you, but please don't keep hijacking unrelated threads and going on about it. If I started a thread about running over a duck in my car you'd bring Lowe into it in no time. Why? Oh because one of his many hobbies was going duck shooting. If I started a thread about what a great job Dave Jones is doing at Cardiff City you'd bring Lowe into it in no time. Why? Because it just so happens Lowe hired him when he managed here. There are comparisons that can be made yes, but then there are agendas that pounce on the tiniest, most subtle link and go on about the same thing over and over again. The wonderfully ironic thing is you accuse the board for having a anti-Lowe/pro-Cortese agenda, but you make those accusations through your own pro-Lowe agenda.
-
No there isn't. Cortese has had as much if not more bashing as Lowe did in a 3 month period in the last few months, especially when Pardew got sacked. If someone got banned everytime something libellious was posted about Cortese, 80% of this board would have been banned. The discussion is about a curious poster who had inside information, which was proved correct on numerous occasions who also had an anti Cortese agenda. Why he was banned was up for the mods to decide. There is no link with Lowe there at all. None. The thread is about leftback and his comments about Cortese. Lowe is irrelevant to this debate. It is very irritating that on numerous threads you start contributing to, the name "Lowe" is usually there in the first line. Most of the time the thread has absolutely nothing to do with Lowe, and you try and come up with a ludicrous justification as to why you bring him yet AGAIN. Practically all well known saints related players/managers/CEOs have had libellious material posted about them, and regular offenders (like leftback) have usually had the necessary action taken against them, it's just your extremely selective about which libellious material you choose to read and which you choose to ignore. We've had other previous CEOs that came in for criticism and had libellious material posted about them, Crouch, Wilde, the list goes on. You don't mention any of them though do you? No you go on mention the same old person, same old thing over and over and over again.
-
Oh for crying out loud, why do you have to keep bringing him into any unrelated topic?
-
If Marlon Pack plays well I hope the fans start chanting "Pompey, sign him up!"
-
I was talking about the workload that you were referring to, the 6500 essay on top of the average 11 hour week you do in seminars/lectures. Triple the length of the lectures/seminars and it might start to get reasonable. Given that I'd work your busiest seminar/lecture weeks in 1 and a half days I'd have plenty of time to do 6500 word essays in the rest of the week. As for pay, you get loans and grants covering that, the loans you don't have to pay back until your earning a certain amount.
-
LOL I'd happily swap that for a 42.5 hour working week, every week anytime.
-
Impressed also, I've trawling through the licence tests mainly and have done the kart races. The staggered racing line on the track, is that only present in licence tests and kart races or do I have to turn it off in the options somewhere? The menu screens are quite nice but their a bit "small"
-
What I've managed to detect is that pompey have gone 1-0 down after 2 minutes in the Liberty Stadium

I think on Solent they reported it's already snowing in Dorset and it's moving eastwards
