  1. Which unfortunately is the Daily Mail's dictionary definition of an "immigrant" or an "asylum seeker"
  2. My goodness, anyone would think the Mail had some kind of agenda. .

    Ronaldo

It's one reason why Messi has always been a better player. When Messi loses the ball he chases back and works as an extra defender. When Ronaldo loses it he falls over and starts playacting.
  5. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-spurs-are-staggered-by-punishment-tottenham-escape-relegation-over-illegal-payments-but-fa-sanctions-send-a-shudder-through-white-hart-lane-1422815.html Interesting article from '94 Swindon were relegated two divisions although it was reduced to one on appeal. However this was back in the time of the Poll tax riots.
  6. Very impressed also, he really has given us a cutting edge since he's come in. Just needs to get the best out of Lambert and you couldn't ask for much more
  7. You've answered your own question there. If they go up Chainrai will pocket the TV money/parachute payments, and the only way they can go up is paying PL rejects obscene wages. Could he sell the club in the PL? possibly in theory but he's got more to gain from keeping the club at that point and stripping the assets. If they don't they are screwed, there'll be a firesale of players and Chainrai will pocket the proceeds. Remember they will have still racked up a massive amount of debt by the end of this season, being promoted to the PL would merely prolong the time it takes to switch the life support machine off IMO
  8. Another thing to consider. If this is true and Pompey don't keep to the CVA, would this protect them from a points deduction for failing to keep to the CVA? As the creditors agreed to it even if they may have overlooked it. . .
  9. Dundee getting 25 points deducted just illustrates what a farce the whole thing has become with Pompey. The justification from the SFA was a very clear message obviously relating to the Pompey situation, I seriously hope the FL sit up and take note. Now so far Pompey have been very clever in bending FL rules IMO, if they default on the CVA the FL have to apply a heavy points penalty. If the creditors do get shafted I wonder if they will raise enough self publicity and start to turn the PR tide against Pompey. I won't hold my breath though If what Gemmel has alluded to is true I don't think Chainrai had any intention to service the CVA at all.
  10. Apologies for starting another thread but can't send PMs. Looks like I have the same problem as saint_bert. £5 left my paypal account on saturday and I don't have full access to the site
  11. I'm actually beginning to wonder if Chainrai has any interest in servicing the CVa at all
  12. I may be entirely wrong but I believed someone on here calculated that Kitson and Lawrence's wages were around 50-60% of the total wage budget alone.
  13. Its very possible although it depends what Chainrai's long term motives are. Even having been promoted they are still far from an ideal investment and there isn't any prizes for where any TV money or subsequent parachute payments would end up if they weren't sold on. Also will be interesting if any of the Boltons, Wigans or Blackpools of this world offer a few million for any of them. Don't forget they still have a CVA to fund.
  14. With regards to Pompey the January transfer window will be fascinating. I bet there'll be a few indicators as to what Chainrai's long term plan is
  15. Do you reckon Lawrence, Kitson, Brown, Nugent etc. will still be there February?
  16. I think Adkins start has been very encouraging and is starting to justify Cortese's decision to get rid of Pardew. There's a long way to go yet but there could be quite a few people eating their words with regards to Cortese at the end of the season. Saints overall are playing better than we were doing than at the start of the season, we are starting to look like a team that will be going after Brighton at the top of the table
  17. I can't believe not more has been made of this TBH
  18. Well judging by their current squad. . .
  19. A good point, one potential reason is if they did that they would lose most of their games and be relegation certs, and it wouldn't be long until the attendances hurtled towards 4 figures
  20. This is the only thing I disagree on. Even if they got promotion and even with all the TV money I still see them as being far from an attractive investment. All promotion would do IMO is prolong the fuse in the life support machine and cause Chainrai's wallet to eventually bulge twice as much.
  21. What was that quote from Mandaric about "financial suicide"? They may have dropped £100 million of debt but don't forget they are still rapidly piling the debt up again.
  22. I genuinely find it refreshing to encounter a Pompey fan (outside of my own personal Pompey supporting friends) who recognises what is going on. This is a very good post. Problem is the vast majority of fans just don't recognise the crisis you are in, although it is understandable because a lot of the media doesn't appear to either. A lot of the fans still don't have a clue that the club can nowhere near afford the players you have now, regardless of the debt you still owe and the £80-90 million that the creditors have been done out of. They still think Pompey have a right to field a team of PL players on PL money in the championship with massive debts, and they STILL don't see a problem with it even after what has happened in the last couple of years. On the pitch Pompey have had hardly any pain yet, 1 relegation is nowhere near to where the club will eventually fall if still run in its current state. As for the creative accounting that has gone on, why liquidate the club when there is still value in it? As has been pointed out the one thing I don't get is why pay the players obscene wages, the only thing I can think of is they are being funded directly by the gate receipts to merely keep them there, and when they are eventually sold the transfer money will go straight into the wallet of Chainrai. Although this doesn't explain why the loan players are on obscene money.
  23. Exactly the same thing happened to me about 6 months ago. i ended up just deleting the account as i had another one
  24. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11635476 I tell you what, Ahmadinejad's pace and finishing aren't bad
  25. I really don't know why people bother arguing with pfc, he's clearly been brainwashed when it comes to how Pompey has been run over the last few years. He seems to have swallowed the PR of Storrie and Andronikou whole and can only defend himself by making ill informed/untrue statements about the financial situation we were in, claiming that we are no different than them whilst gleefully ignoring our numerous justifications given to him. I have many friends who are Portsmouth supporters and they know exactly what has gone on and firmly accept that our situations were entirely different. They know what is going on, they are concerned about the future of the club whilst Chainrai is still there, they know they still have massive debts (despite 80% of it being wiped out) and are STILL recklessly overspending As for pfc he was probably one of the first to get hold of a "fit and proper sign" on the street and bleated with all the others how their relentless, breathtaking financial recklessness was all the Premier League's fault.
