  1. 20 is too old, they might breed before that age
  2. Three genetically modified cows born at the AgResearch centre at Ruakura, Hamilton, were born with ovaries that grew so large they caused ruptures and killed them. The animals being used in a study in which AgResearch scientists were seeking human fertility treatments through GM cows' milk. AgResearch was now studying tissue from one of the three dead calves to try to find out what made the ovaries grow to the size of tennis balls rather than the usual thumbnail-size, the Weekend Herald reported today. The newspaper obtained details of the deaths in an Official Information Act request and said it had reignited debate over the ethics of GM trials on animals. AgResearch's applied technologies group manager, Dr Jimmy Suttie, said the deaths were not a big deal  and told the newspaper they were part of the learning process for scientists. However, GE-Free NZ spokesman Jon Carapiet told the newspaper details of the calf trial showed the animal welfare committee overseeing AgResearch's work was "miles away from the ethics and values of the community". The calves died last year, aged six months. They were formed when human genetic code injected into a cow cell was added to an egg from a cow's ovary and put into a cow's uterus. It was part of an experiment to see if the genetic code would enable the cows that were produced to produce milk containing compounds that could be used as a human fertility treatment. http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/mp/7141902/genetically-modified-cows-die-at-research-centre/ Just what the Earth needs, even more humans
  3. I know some smart alec will say this is obvious but I didn't think of it so in case others haven't have a look at this video. They store a copy of every copy they have taken on a hard drive, these are not deleted so anyone who buys the machine second hand could steal your sensitive details. I have added this as people might let it get silly by talking about copying body parts and put others off viewing the link ..........oh too late http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6412572n&tag=related;photovideo
  4. I think they are "Vosper Thornycroft" ?
  5. Don't do it, full stop.
  6. In several past years I forgot it was my birthday, I just can't be bothered with "celebrating" a totally meaningless date.
  7. Now let me get this correct, the Belgrano was steaming away from the Falklands when she was sunk. Does this mean she could never have turned back towards the Falklands if she had not been sunk ? I could be wrong but I thought ships could turn anyway they want anytime they want so as far as I am concerned whilst she was in a declared war zone she was a legit target all of that time.
  8. Just a thought as I understand he is a German gentleman who has emigrated to Switzerland. Does this mean that GM will have to dislike him ? I mean an ex-pat is an ex-pat regardless of country of origin if he has emigrated :smt090
  9. Real Gentlemen don't flaunt their wealth and so would never allow themselves to be on any common list.
  10. I would almost like to agree with that sentiment GM being consanguineous but alas as I am an ex-pat you wouldn't be able to accept this support So let them burn in Hell :D:D
  11. A Brazilian housewife celebrating her 24th birthday was shot and lynched after running over a pregnant woman and her daughter while driving drunk, local media reported on Sunday, citing police. Pamela de Souza Costa was shot five times after being caught by a group of residents in the town of Macae, 160km northeast of Rio de Janeiro, immediately after the accident on Friday, the O Globo newspaper said. The woman she ran into, Silmara Rodrigues, was badly hurt and lost her unborn baby. She may also have to have a leg amputated. Rodrigues' eight-year-old daughter Raissa was killed. According to reports, Costa had been driving home after drinking at her birthday party when she lost control of her car and ran into Rodrigues and her daughter, who were slammed against a wall. She tried to leave the scene of the accident but crashed into a post. A group of angry locals pulled her out of her car and one person shot her several times before running away. http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/world/7109196/woman-lynched-after-drunk-hit-and-run/

  16. JAKARTA (Reuters) - Forget about getting a job as a police officer in Indonesia's Papua if you have had your penis enlarged. You won't get it, according to local media reports citing the Papua police chief. An applicant "will be asked whether or not his vital organ has been enlarged," said Papua police chief Bekto Suprapto, quoted on local website Kompas.com. "If he has, he will be considered unfit to join the police or the military." The ban was applied since the unnatural size causes "hindrance during training," said police spokesman Zainuri Lubis in Jakarta, quoted by news portal Detik.com. http://nz.entertainment.yahoo.com/100423/5/ijw0.html
  17. Maybe they know the fans wouldn't recognise the Euro symbol.
  18. Ok I surrender, Pompey are going to be liquidated.
  19. Never take anything that Wiltshire says as being serious, he is a wind up merchant like 19C was.
  20. Re this 18 month timescale thing what would you think IF we got promoted this year but by Christmas we were in the lower half of the Championship ? Would you rather be at the top of L1 or near the bottom of the Championship and what would the owners think ?
  21. In these ultra PC days what about having a lady mod ? Women are always banging on about they are never going to be allowed to break through the glass ceiling etc
  22. Snag is she did have evidence but she did her job alright ---- badly
  23. Posted just 3 posts above yours
  24. I think "we" could do with an ex-pat as a mod, one of us can sometimes seem more worldly with more open minds. A better choice than those who choose to remain static in one place all of their lives, becoming blinkered and less tolerant towards others. Finally of course living in different time zones means being able to keep watch whilst the UK mods are asleep.
  25. I really hope that I am wrong ( again like usual ) but somehow I have a feeling that HMRC are NOT as up for this fight as some on here think. I feel that they only seem to take a hardline against much easier targets, when it comes to the crunch against companies which are more in the Public eye they just back off.
