For all you softies moaning about cold and snow have a read of this, now that's cold http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/091223-christmas-coldest-space-places.html  Pluto Earlier this year, scientists determined that Pluto’s atmosphere is warmer than previously thought, warm being a relative term. The air over the dwarf planet’s surface is still a frigid -292 degrees Fahrenheit (-180 degrees Celsius), while its face is -364 degrees Fahrenheit (-220 degrees Celsius).

Merry Christmas to all the admin and mods but especially a big thank you to all of those who post match reports. I can only watch via the internet links sometimes and the quality isn't very good so to get first hand reports from real people, not newspapers , is superb. A word of warning though, I hope to visit UK next Aug/Sept so will be hopefully able to see Saints live at SMS for the very first time.

Doubt it as he wasn't a Prem manager in October ? "The Sun can also reveal the manager was spotted outside the brothel, which uses Asian massage girls, in October."
-
Good for him, BUT "Clarence House said a "small element of security" had remained with the prince during the night." So he won't have been exactly exposed to all the dangers that real homeless people face every night. Having said that though he at least tried and he now has a better idea of what it is like than most people.

I am working on Dec 26th, I broke up my days off to help our company and its customers, I was supposed to have 8 days off starting yesterday.

Not the best thread for people who suffer from depression, especially those for whom Christmas "happiness" just never happens.

An Invercargill woman flashing her breasts at motorists distracted one driver so much he ran her over. Cherelle May Dudfield, 18, admitted disorderly behaviour when she appeared in Invercargill District Court yesterday, the Southland Times reported. Dudfield was fined $275. http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/6590537/motorist-distracted-by-a-fine-pair/ .

Southampton/Portsmouth,city of culture joint bid!
Saint in Paradise replied to saint lard's topic in The Lounge
I wonder if whoever thought of that even knows both cities have football teams with fans who dislike each other ? -
Changes everyday apparantly http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ Not tried it myself as I am not exactly brilliant with these computer things but someone else might enjoy looking at the stuff on offer. The software is only free for one day then if you want it you have to buy it, so I have been told anyway.

A senior geologist drilling off the New Zealand coast has called for the United Nation's International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to be "killed". "The IPCC's incompetence is manifest in its failure to detect the corrupt science that has for so long permeated the activities of the international jetsetters of the climate science power group," Professor Bob Carter, of James Cook University in Townsville, told the ABC. "The organisation should be closed down (without tears), and the Copenhagen COP-15 meeting would be a good place to start this process happening," said the Otago University graduate, who earlier this year teamed with a well-known climate sceptic, Chris de Freitas, of Auckland University, to argue that natural forces are the dominant influence on climate and that little or none of the late 20th century global warming and cooling can be attributed to human activity. Today, Prof Carter argued that the study of climate change had been "captured" by the small group of well-connected, well-networked and well-funded atmospheric scientists and computer modellers who advise the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He claimed that the course of climate history and change on Earth should be the domain of geologists, "not meteorologists and computer jockeys". The palaeontologist, stratigrapher, marine geologist and environmental scientist is now drilling holes in the seabed off the Canterbury coast in the hopes that core samples will provide new clues to the link between climate and sea-level changes over the past 35 million years. He is on the drillship Joides Resolution, which is carrying a multinational expedition to study sediments. The expedition involves 33 scientists, including three New Zealanders -- Greg Browne and Martin Crundwell, of GNS Science, and Otago University's Kirsty Tinto. Prof Carter said the "global warming scare" was a scam and the hacked files had demonstrated "scientific malfeasance" of an influential and internationally well networked segment of the climate research community. He was critical of political interference in government-funded research groups, and the power and financial clout of the Green movement. http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/6562679/scientist-drilling-off-nz-drills-ipcc/

Just a Receptionist ?? Not anymore
Saint in Paradise replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Lounge
Yes to Queenstown but Waikato ??? Waikato area is on the North Island not South Island -
New name is "Director of first impressions" And there is more Teachers at Remarkables Primary School in Frankton will be known as "expedition leaders", while the school receptionist will become the "director of first impressions". Principal Debbie Dickson said the staff had been given titles that reflected the school philosophy of teaching and learning. "Through our curriculum the children are going through learning pathways ... and as learners there are many pathways - the expedition leaders guide them through that learning," she told the Southland Times. "The director of first impressions is Angela (Murray), in the sense that she will greet most of the visitors into the school and so we wanted to give her that title." Head teachers Melissa Mitchell-Bain and Grant Hammond are to be "learning community leaders", and will each oversee a group of four classrooms, known as a "learning pod". The school has also adopted unconventional names for parts of its campus - teaching spaces are "campfires", meeting places are "watering holes" and small one-on-one areas are "caves". Job titles for Ms Dickson and deputy principal Sarah Graham are still being worked on. http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/mp/6559009/new-school-comes-up-with-eyebrow-raising-job-titles/
