Sport Republic couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. They are so, so inept. It's so tragic. They took a Premier League club with potential, pissed any promise up the wall and broke it into pieces. I'd take League One if it meant them fucking off, yep.

All the fan commentary over the summer and during Still's tenure about the failings of Sport Republic still apply. The fish rots from the head.

I used to refer to the chap as crisp-packet. He does seem to be improving. This comes with a massive caveat that it isn't fucking hard to improve from a ghost between the sticks.

I think timid is such an apt word for our style of play. So very timid.

Your post involves some conflation, Matthew. 'Out of possession' doesn't necessarily mean the team is 'pressing', which is when Tonda has claimed we have a back four. In fact, our pressing leaves a lot to be desired in its frequency and consistency across the team.

Three 'central' defenders places greater emphasis on few things in my understanding (which may be severely limited!!): - The quality of the central midfielder in using their presence to physically dominate, blocking runs and passes and being able to play on the turn to shift defense into attack - The tenacity and drive of the wing backs to get up and down the pitch. Emphasis on stopping crosses and staying wide to not infringe on the two 'outer' central defenders - The organisation, communication and reading of the game of the three 'centre backs'. Not leaving people unmarked, communicating positioning and responsibilities at set pieces or in open play when in the defensive third.

Blimey, it's all turned a bit negative on here due to our last few results. I've got my fingers crossed for a festive miracle.

Mainly, though, we are so much more positive and are actually utilising our creative and dynamic attackers. Scienza is a fucking revelation. A game changer.

We tired towards the end but still carved out good chances for Archer and Robinson. Bringing Aribo on was like going down to 10 men. Manning staying on is a worry, we need someone to replace him. He doesn't close down his man enough anyway, let alone when he's blowing out of his arse in the final 20 minutes. Tonda is good at analysing other teams. I think he needs to delve in deeper into our players in the last 20 minutes of games. We give away far too much.

Weirdly we could be even more clinical than we are. Still feel slightly vulnerable at the back, especially after Millwall.

Like choosing between listening to a dial-up modem as a bed-time lullaby and watching paint dry in reverse.
