  1. We have to get stuck in as fans and get behind the team. If we don't get a win it's not going to be looking promising. Never quit, but we'll be staring down the barrel if we can't secure all three points. A lovely attacking line up with Lemina, Romeu and Hojberg and Carrillo starting with Long on the bench
  2. The thing is, players can't make the manager perform better. The whole premise of a manager is to make the players and team perform at their best.
  3. And yet still losing. No one remembers the runners up mate.
  4. We secured clean sheets all the way through to the final, without Fonte for a few of them I'm sure. I think to say "we would have won the cup" is completely unfounded and something you cannot say. Luck played a massive role in that cup final. If I decided to have chicken for dinner the evening prior, we would have won! Silly comment. On to Fonte. Great player for us throughout League One, the Championship and the PL. Has not been as good this season, partly due to his head being turned, partly because his legs are going. He moved for his family, because of money and security. Can't blame him. Can't blame Saints for not wanting to give him a long contract. The situation turned out to be the best for all concerned.
  5. Great performance, no result. Rings too many bells. I am absolutely gutted. A brilliant opportunity for silverware slips through the floorboards. Well played boys, but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow.
  6. Two defensive errors (Romeu and Davis) are only negatives. Sublime first half performance. Gabbiadini unlucky not to have two for us, but it wouldn't be saints without a sense of injustice and bad officiating, would it?
  7. Sadly a large bunch of our fans are disrespectful, lack any form of empathy and have no self awareness. They also don't possess any valid form of conscience so this behaviour would probably seem dependable from their perspective. Sorry to hear about your experiences. Sadly football for many is an excuse to be a c*ck. You can support the team and be passionate sat on your arse.
  8. I think this is Stephens' chance. He's been on loan and now he needs to grab this opportunity. I think he has good potential, and I hope he steps right up into the consistent premier league CB he has the qualities to become. I must admit I did have a bit of a wobble when I saw that VVD has been ruled out for up to three months, but we've been in tougher situations than this. F*ck it, come on Saints. Let's salvage something from this season!
  9. Great player. Surprised no one's mentioned him before. What about that Lovren bloke, too?
  10. Fonte wouldn't have played anyway even if he were here still.
  11. I like the fact we're nervous about being close to Wembley rather than relegation etc. We've come a long way since 2009. Do it for everyone that's been a part of the journey so far, lads. 2-1 saints, Yoshida header to win it.
  12. He's been on the Liebherr journey and is part of the Saints family. It's gutting that he's left to another club instead of retiring with us, but as others have said I can completely see both sides. I understand us not giving him the contract length he wanted and I understand him wanting to get that security (we can all talk till we're blue in the face about how he earns more in a week than most do in a year- let's ignore that for now). Best of luck Jose and thanks for the memories.
  13. Swarbrick's performance can be summed up with this comparison: He gave a free kick for a very late blocking tackle by Lucas on Romeu who was starting a counter-attack. No card. He gave a free kick and a yellow to Rodriguez for a pull back justo outside Liverpool's box. Dreadful performance ref.
  14. Only problem I can see for supporters attending would be the RMT union strike on Wednesday.
  15. Shame it happened a week before the biggest game of the season. Top player for us. Earned good money for a League One and Championship player. He owes us nothing, we owe him nothing. Thanks for the memories, José.
  16. Didn't we have bucket collections for them when they wereven teetering on the edge of liquidation? They are a nothing club with nothing fans, I just can't bring myself to hate them no matter what I do. I find their fans that are trying to spark something funny. Brighton and us did indeed have a rivalry when we were battling to get out of League One and the Championship. They've only just managed to keep up. The skates will always be there no matter what league they are in. Bournemouth isn't even close to Brighton in terms of rivalry, let alone Portsmouth! They'll always be that friendlying retirement home from down the coast we want to do well.
  17. Looking forward to having him in the squad after his loan spell. Will be like having a new promising young Championship striker.
  18. Seems to make things so simple seem very, very complicated.
  19. We are back to being bang average. Deal with it. Puel is making a good fist of it with the players he has.

Thank God you said "right now". In a couple of years we'll all know which we would have preferred to have bought last summer.
  21. F*ck me we were sloppy today. Fonte's sliced attempt summed up our performance. Oh well, on to the next one.
  22. That got a few laughs from me. "They were rippin man apart. It's lucky it's only two nil blud, it should've been more! It should've been more blud! It should have been an embarrassing scoreline blud, you understand!?!" Eloquent.
  23. We would have to play a "tough team" to win the cup anyway. We've shown we're good enough to win away at Arsenal in this competition so why not away to Liverpool?
