Its funny you say that. When he came in I fully expected us to sign at least one, probably two great big no nonsense German Centre Halfs to sort that problem area out.
-
I see according to the local rag that Ralph says its insulting to suggest the players are already on the beach. Only one way to prove otherwise then Ralph !!!
-
I’m reading that Adam Armstrong left the bench and went down the tunnel when the third sub came on. Is that just Twitter b/s or can anyone confirm?
-
I really can’t keep doing this. Season after season we have a great run, make ourselves as good as safe, then just stop! I don’t know if it’s the players or the manager or, and I suspect it’s this one, a combination of both. Ralph didn’t like Blackmore’s questions on Solent where he basically called him out over the subs coming too late. I think in Ralph world he’s never wrong and that’s a worry cos fuck me he’s wrong - a lot !!! I can’t believe I’m still watching shite like Nathan effin Redmond wandering around like a spare part. He offered nothing today, pretty much like most of the time. Shane Long up front……he was possibly our best attacker today…..yes it was that bloody bad. This team don’t give a fuck, the manager isn’t half as good as some people like to think he is. If the new owners are serious then maybe Ralph should start looking over his shoulder cos this is awful, one win in 12 and let’s face it we should never have won that. Pathetic.

There are but I think the way he’s tailed off in the past 6 weeks or so might well be a plus for us. He clearly isn’t ready for Chelsea just yet.
-
A lot of people living in a North Western city on the banks of The Mersey you mean ? That would be hilarious tbf.
-
KWP for me

Its not the same knee though is it ? I mean I take the point about he should/could have had an op to clean it up given we have the cover but I don't think RH can be blamed when its the other bloody leg.
-
off they go again - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61213710 that's the second time they've "wanted answers" since they became Frank Lampard's Everton. I hope they go down, they really will not be missed at all !

How is Redmond doing?
-
Like everyone else against Burnley you mean 🤣
-
Given Long won’t be here next season yet Armstrong probably will it would have made more sense.
-
In your efforts to be a smart arse you have once again spectacularly missed the point. The tactics tonight were totally wrong, that’s on him. The personnel was wrong, that’s on him. We have players and a system that could have competed with Burnley much better. But hey knock yourself out cos like Ralph you are never wrong are you?
-
What has that fkin manager seen in the first half that warrants no changes at half time? I give up with the bloke.
-
Did Ralph not figure out the reason this system worked Saturday was because of Forster. We are only 2 down tonight because of Forster. FFS give Broja some help, an experienced centre forward would struggle up there on his own, never mind a kid in his first season !!!
-
When we were in Burnley’s position the home games you always looked at were mid table teams with nothing to play for. They’ve got two in a row now while Everton have got Liverpool next up. Whst a chance to overtake them or get 4 out of 6 points to draw level.
-
Sounds plausible given, like you say, nobody was lined up to replace him.
-
It might be just me but I thought Redmond was a bloody disgrace when he came on. A couple of times we were looking to break out of defence and instead of busting a gut to offer support he was ambling around, nowhere to be seen. Contrast that with Long charging down Ramsdale right at the end and you have the attitude and mindset of the two players summed up. I hope someone buys him in the summer and we can get rid.
-
With 8 games left? That’s bizarre. Player power maybe?

Interesting listening to the Total Saints Podcast where Dan Sheldon confirmed the club had spoken to him several times about his tweets. It was a very good discussion and a lot of very good points made by the panel. It shows a fair degree of arrogance or lack of interest in his “job” as club ambassador that not only has he failed to tone it down but has just become more and more controversial.
-
If you go by his record at Bournemouth he is whether you want to doubt it or not. It’s when he suddenly had the Russian guys money that they started unraveling. If you seriously think the Newcastle billions will be trusted to Eddie Howe when they look to plan for their rivalling of Man City etc then think again. They will do exactly what City did, I believe our old mate Mark Hughes was in the hot seat, and jettison him for a big name to attract the big players.
-
Possibly because it’s either stories relating to himself or it isn’t questioning the site of charcoaled bodies on the news being made up?
-
He does that a lot, when we go a couple of goals down he often just goes and sits down, any presence from the touch line just goes missing. Sort of sending out its own message to the players of “this games gone, you’re on your own”
-
When he's in the middle of the park he does like a back or sideways pass, which is fine, but fuck me we were 2-0 down, there were more Saints players in front of him than behind, we needed to attack, so he passes back to who ? Oh yeah a centre back who had ambled over to take one of those oh so effective long throws and not bothered to stroll back into position either because he thought the momentum was for going forward or because he couldnt be arsed. I dont like it when we have a full seven days to train, thats when Ralph gets his big boy coaching manual out and goes for the weird and not so wonderful. Ok, in fairness yesterday that was the strongest team he could put out but god knows what the game plan was. Give them as much room in midfield as they want to lull them into a false sense of security ? Taking Romeu off was a weird one, you want damage limitation so you sub off the only midfield player who will put his foot in? I dread to think what he puts out and in what formation for the Arsenal game. I really hope he doesnt use this as an excuse to put McCarthy back in goal....oh and scrap the bloody long throw ins, having a centre back take them and then be miles out of position if/when the ball goes to the opposition is reckless or bloody stupid.

Trouble is we either look very very good or we look very very bad and there isn’t a lot in between the two extremes. Whoever it was said Saints are a streaky team had it 100% right. Today was pretty shameful with the exception of Walker Peters and Forster.
