If that was the case they would have done this season then not have their deals renewed hence they get a proper send off and everyone comes out of it looking good. What he’s trying to say, I think, is that the law isn’t always right. Maybe to highlight his point if he’d used a picture of Elizabeth Moss from The Handmades Tale, something that isn’t real life, he might have gotten away with it.
