He isnt the greatest defender, lets not pretend he is, BUT overall what an excellent player he's been for us. Never (appears) to kick up a fuss, just keeps his head down and gets on with the job. After 200 games he deserves his move, not that many players get to that landmark these days. As stated above, I too wont miss many of this lot if they go but KWP I will.

You would hope but in latter years Ryan Fraser for instance has virtually made a career out of being frozen out and happily picking up his monthly salary - Bournemouth, Newcastle and now Southampton. There will be others in the squad no doubt of a similar mind. We wont get rid of even half the shite we want to offload. We didnt last time, why would this be any different.

Stupidly (and as it turned out like Dave Merrington did) I thought with absolutely nothing to lose the Rusk/Lallana combo would put out a team that would give it a real go. Hopes dashed with the teamsheet and 3 central defenders but two up front? At fkin last…..but no……Villa barely had to break sweat first half, it was like a training session. The pissing around at the back and sideways passing reared its ugly head yet again and it was pretty obvious Rusk was looking for a Fulham result and 0-0 scoreline. That was undone by ridiculous subs and Villa scoring, it all went to shit pretty quickly after that. Needless to say Rusk/Lallana blew their first audition if they did have designs on the job full time. All in all a thoroughly depressing 90 mins……well 85 for me.

That’s a bloody ridiculous statement. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1979 and apart from the Branfoot era I have never been as fed up with watching Saints as I have been this season. It’s got fuck all to do with what league the club are in, the “prem” only supporters don’t tend to become season ticket holders by and large !
