If the decision on his future was based purely on footballing terms rather than financial ones I randomly find myself agreeing with Jamie Redknapp who said on Sky the other day he should stay at Southampton next season, tear up the Championship then see where he is in the summer 2026. It wont happen unless his experience at Chelsea still runs deep and he doesnt feel ready to move on just yet.

This is how awful we are though, like you say, sit back and we get steamrollered, go forward and the opposition will just walk through us. If ever there is an Exhibit A of a Championship side not beig ready for the Premier league it is us and Sheffield United in the past two seasons.

I’m not gonna apologise for this but he is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a Saints shirt and I’ve seen a fair few. Unlike most of the others who at least put some effort in, he does not. He’s a fkin disgrace.

He’ll get a job in the Championship, the Premier League will be a fair few years of learning not to be so bloody stubborn away cos at the moment if he went somewhere, got them up this season or next then their fate will be the same as ours.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Tall Paul start this one. Given the way IJ likes to play and given the fact that on the odd occasion we did get the ball forward against Fulham there was absolutely nobody to hold it up while the midfield could join in its crying out for a target man, especially since we have abandoned "being brave" and are more likely to hit it longer now. Ransdale Suga/Bree, THB, Jan B, Wood, KWP Downes, Fernandes, Les TP, Archer Dibling on the bench to come on and run riot for the last half an hour or so.

What happens with ABK in the next month or so is one of the more interesting issues with the squad. I'm also interested to see what the new manager makes of Stephens, Fraser, Smallbone (when fit), Kamaldeen, Armstong and Manning who, in fairness, hasnt been bad of late.

I have to say I was quite impressed by the second half. It’s like the players suddenly realised they had the straitjacket taken off them. Good to see hardly no fucking about at the back, forward passes, a bit of pace. Pity they hadn’t sacked the twat 6 weeks ago !
