He did add the caveat that the club would appeal if he was banned. I suspect the double jepordy rule he mentions would be a major issue, if the FA want to seen to be doing something they can give him a suspended sentence then if it happens again he's toast. Their issue would be that the club has been punished, twice. If you ban any of the analysts or Operations manager for arguments sake the club can cover those individual bans. If you ban the manager for any length of time that impacts the whole club.....and we've, as i said, already been impacted twice. At some point you have to stop shooting the dead man.

So based on absolutely nothing at all do we think the club had decided to use this long Bank Holiday weekend to gauge opinions on Tonda after the initial anger had subsided? Or have they had to get their ducks in a row legally in order to sack him without having to pay him off due to gross misconduct? Or are they just bloody incompetent and don’t give a stuff about the fan base?

FFS Southampton, if you are sacking him or keeping him issue a bloody statement either way......the silence since last Wednesday night is deafening. I assume there have been no sighting of the lesser spotted Tonda in the past few days. Possibly gone back to Germany for a while, dont know if hes married and has kids but if so might be best to get them out the way for a few weeks.

Sacked or not, I don't know, lets face it he isnt trying this again whatever happens and if the players want to play for him.... I think he'll be banned by the FA yes, but I dont think it'll be a long ban. If SFC did NOT make him aware of this 72 hour rule they are as much cupable. If this rule was in place worldwide then its a different story, and who knows, as a result of this it may well be going forward. I do kind of like the siege mentality angle, its something Fergie spent years on at United after all.
