Not seen us play live yet but that is the impression I get too. In that case I would suspect having Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, Ward-Prowse, and Reed is a good rotation there - two players for every position. Unless one leaves of course...
-
From my brief foray on Google and YouTube he very much looks like a central midfielder...
-
Jos and Morgan are besties. No way.
-
I'm saying he signed the contract when we had a different Board, team, and Manager. However even then I do not expect his grievance is that level of change - I'm saying it will be because he was told he could leave and then told he couldn't. He's been messed about. Yet he is supposed to just accept that? If your boss promised you something significant and then changed his / her mind on it would you just accept it or would you be annoyed and then seek to see if there was a way you could get it anyway?
-
Depends on whether you believe what Kbilly has said or not. I personally do.
-
No-one is saying he is. But if the Board promised him something and then changed their mind, why should he just accept it. I'd hand in a transfer request straight away. How can he trust the Board with his career now? This is about the Board saying he could leave and then changing their mind. I don't think you just accept that and get on with it. I can't see how anyone would personally. I would expect him to be professional in training and suchlike but in terms of attitude and contentment I would expect him to be annoyed and seek to force a move away. I don't blame him.
-
If you are told you can leave the club and see all your buddies get their move as well, and then turn up to a meeting to discuss what teams you can talk to only to find that the idiots running the club discovered that fans aren't happy with all the best players being sold and so turn around and say you can't leave, how are you supposed to react? Just accept it? I'm surprised he's been this restrained. I don't blame him, I blame the absolute clowns running this football club right now.

You can't believe a word that comes from the Board - not because they are deliberately lying, but because they are naïve and incompetent for the level of responsibility they have. Thing is at this stage I'd rather find out that what has happened was the plan all along as at least then it would reflect a level of competency on the football side and show that they have the ability to implement a plan. However as Krueger mentioned yesterday that things didn't go to plan it just means that they were ill-prepared for what was to happen despite any old media hack and supporter with their head screwed on seeing it happen a mile away. That said, the Board have achieved good fees for players - but that was always the easy part for me. Now it is the hard part - sign good players (a challenge in itself) in the circumstance where everyone knows we have a lot of money and also to attract the right players when there is no reason beyond money to come here in the first place (as we've sold all our decent players). Good luck with that...
-
To be fair to him I think he spoke well - or rather as well as he could in the circumstance. He remained positive without trying to dig holes for himself (although it remains to be seen whether or not the Schneiderlin / Rodriguez guarantee will be one). I do think he has too much faith in Les Reed though, but I suppose until Les Reed gets fired he has to.

A 34 year old CB on loan? Lets hope there is nothing in that.
-
Easy way to back up the statement that Morgan is staying - announce him as new Captain now.
-
I really don't want any loans, they just don't make sense to me in our position.
-
To be honest I'd be inclined to agree with you if I hadn't ensured I listened to his interviews back in May on Sky, BBC, and official club channels - he clearly spouts crap and can't be controlled.
-
'hoping'. This is the media charm offensive is it I just want to put on record that I am hoping to win EuroMillions this evening.
-
I believe it is possible she can pay herself a dividend from the profits of the club. However, I also think we wouldn't be aware of that until the Accounts for this season are logged which will be the season after next I think. The other indication will be how much we spend on players in the meantime. But I'm no Accountant
-
'Can you stop selling all of your players for huge fees please?' Such a request would leave the club lawyers running for the hills I am sure.
-
No-one knows yet, obviously.
-
Are we playing games too? What game is it when we sell at least 5, likely 7, first teamers and only manage to replace them with a few signings two and a half weeks before the start of the season? Is it the 'I messed up whoops lol' game? I want to believe we know what we're doing but there is no precedent set that this Board can deliver in a transfer window, much less when we lose 70% of our starting outfield players. I'd dearly love to be proved wrong though.

£7m on a Deeney doesn't put Burnley in a bad financial position whatsoever. They are lining up their targets and seeking to sell / buy as close to deals going the other way. I don't know why we find it so hard.

Player Budget - That's About It...

This could be a fun game - anyone would just be guessing though. Probably worth a new thread? -

You know what, I could actually believe this. -
Burnley seem to be taking the novel approach of refusing to sell until they have signed a replacement (they have been linked with Troy Deeney). In the meantime their approach to our bid since the start of the summer has seen us sell lots of our players and have (in theory) a massive transfer budget with further strengthens their position with respect to how desperate we are for the player and the money they know we have. A lesson for Les Reed? We can only hope he isn't too old to learn...
-
What will we do with the ~£80m per season we get from being in the Premier League then?
-
No-one can know with any uncertainty as it appears a player can wake up one morning and ask for a move and the club will give it to them.
