  1. Burnley seem to be taking the novel approach of refusing to sell until they have signed a replacement (they have been linked with Troy Deeney). In the meantime their approach to our bid since the start of the summer has seen us sell lots of our players and have (in theory) a massive transfer budget with further strengthens their position with respect to how desperate we are for the player and the money they know we have. A lesson for Les Reed? We can only hope he isn't too old to learn...
  2. What will we do with the ~£80m per season we get from being in the Premier League then?
  3. No-one can know with any uncertainty as it appears a player can wake up one morning and ask for a move and the club will give it to them.
  4. Doubt we'll ever get much service out of these players but it's nice to know we've got money in the bank, I suppose.
  5. Yep - loads of people did - just check out any Les Reed thread started before the sales and / or up to the sale of Luke Shaw.
  6. Would be the best news since the takeover.
  7. He never had any credibility in the first place. The very idea that some people a few months ago thought he was an appropriate candidate to be a DoF is laughable.
  8. It does not bother me that a club holds an interest in Clyne, it does bother me that the club have the attitude that is any player wants to go they can. Who on earth runs a football club like that!?!
  9. Wait, you mean selling players for big fees before you buy replacements leads to paying over the odds for average players who are nowhere near as good as every man and his dog know you are loaded? Wow - this is big news. Never saw this coming. Idiots.
  10. You don't think it could be because our current Board are not fit for purpose? An owner who has no football experience, a hockey guy, a smalltime Austrian agent, and a DoF who's only other DoF role led to him being sacked after 4 months because of the awful job he did at Fulham.
  11. It's possible but unlikely. I suspect the ease at which players are leaving rests a little with the lure of the clubs wanting them and a little with the absolute farce of a state of our football club. You can't do much about the former, but the latter is under our control and is ****ing annoying.
  12. On the contrary, we're about to inevitably overpay for him in transfer fee and wages as we'll be that desperate due to our awesome strategy of selling everyone and buying no-one *slow claps the Board*
  13. Pochettino to Spurs.
  14. Never believed them in the first place. Guan is very helpful relaying what his source tells him but it soon emerged this summer when things didn't go to plan that something was a problem further up the chain and Guan's source may have known what the plans were but actually implementing them has gone to ****.
  15. Was probably a decent attitude when you are one of the biggest clubs in the country. Not so much at Saints.
  16. Spurs ffs. A Champions League club I can understand but Spurs is taking the ****. The people making these decisions can **** right off.
  17. I still don't get it - is Reed saying the moment a player wants to leave they can?
  18. Perhaps, but right now our sales aren't even accompanied with any reasons as to why the players are sold etc. The club has a right to defend itself and try to manage the way it is portrayed in the media but the silence means it is a free for all in the media and the fans (including myself) are concerned.
  19. He didn't do much talking I agree but as fans were we ever uncertain about what direction the club was heading and what the goals were?
  20. He might work in Hull's back three however if we continue to play 4-3-3 then I would be worried with him in our central defence. Much rather we play Stephens or Turnbull in that case.
  21. You will if you like Partridge!
  22. Not saying the story is true or not however it is quite normal for team / club Captains to represent the players when season bonuses are being negotiated (ones that aren't in individual contracts).
  23. Club is in decent shape long term I agree but in terms of excitement and prospects it feels like a very limp way to just accept your fate as a lower half Premier League team and get on with it.
  24. It may have been the only way he could convince them to sign the deals?
  25. Check out what Fulham did in the summer of 2007 and who was responsible for it!
