He might be poor and relies on complimentaries to watch the team he loves. This is only my 5th year as a season ticket holder due to not being able to afford a season ticket in the past. The first year the Stadium was open I relied on complimentaries for the first couple of months until I gained a free role at the club for the rest of that year. I've been able to afford one since, only just though for this season.
