I reckon at this short notice it'll have to be a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal

Maybe he was offered to us for a cheaper price, or Liverpool agreed to a loan move, who knows.

Crikey it's all doom and gloom and we haven't even started the season yet. If Burnley play us off the park then I'll be worried but let's just wait and see. We'll be fine, we have a competent manager and an alright squad. Yes, it could be better, but there are worse teams than us. I guarantee you one of these teams that have spent massive money will flop massively.

The encouraging thing for me is that he clearly improved under Hughes, even if he was dreadful for most of the season

I can see them struggling this season. Other teams have really strengthened but they don't seem to have really done so. Underestimate them at your peril though.

The one good thing that the appointment of Pellegrino showed was how good a manager Puel really was.
