If we follow the Les Reed pattern of only going for managers not at a club, then that leaves...
Koeman - too many bridges burnt?
Allardyce - goes against the 'Southampton Way' in every sense
Adkins - would be the fans' choice, but hasn't exactly set the world alight since he left us.
De Boer - No
Laurent Blanc - possible option
Luis Enrique - Would he?

I wanted to give him a chance, I really did, and I'm not one for sacking managers, as I said for nearly all of last season, but we have gone backwards and players like Romeu are badly out of form.
Everton and Bournemouth = must win games.
Park the bus against Liverpool and Man City (!!!!!) and try and get a couple of points. We might actually play well at those teams, as our players will want to impress them. Bertrand and VVD especially.
Agree. Adkins as a caretaker whilst Les Reed dithers would at least get the fans back on board, although I don't think he's the long term option. But anything is better than the current coaching setup.
The thing is, I can see Les Reed sacking him and dithering over a replacement. The very last thing we need is a caretaker in charge with these fixtures to come.
I have a table of average points of opponents faced so far and average points of remaining opponents
Of remaining opponents, only Newcastle have a harder set of fixtures than us.
We won't go down, this is a poor quality league and there are worse teams than us - Palace, West Brom, Bournemouth, Swansea, West Ham, Stoke, Everton...
