Ah, well, at least it's a job he couldn't turn down I suppose.

MLS season finishes in November?
-
Martin Caceres is still available, maybe we should pick him up after the window closes.
-
"Fantastic" for a 33-year-old Gary Cahill who will most likely play backup to Sakho and Tomkins is a bit of a stretch.

With the addition of VAR also this season, penalties are likely to become more frequent, as we saw in the last World Cup and Champions League. Whether, they will be for us, or against us will be another thing... However, we definitely need a secure penalty taker for this season and it's potentially more important this season than ever before. Fortunately, Tadic is no longer an option, but with some clubs now bringing in throw-in coaches, maybe Lambert/Le Tiss can run some drills. Although, their penalties were just about hitting the target and beating the goalkeeper, which should be simple for most professional footballers, they could also advise on the mental state in the build-up, as with VAR there is likely to be a prolonged build-up.

Who have Brighton sold to make potentially three £20m signings this summer?
-
Mignolet to Brugge... McCarthy to Liverpool? Linked earlier in the window and was left out of the squad on Saturday?
-
Throwback to when we had Koeman on crutches.
-
Damn, I know he was hauled off at half-time, but I didn't think he looked National League bad against Derby.
-
I'm not Puel's biggest fans and believed he more than deserved to get the boot when he did with us. However, if Charlie Austin was interviewed tomorrow I reckon he'd give a very similar interview about Hasenhuttl.
-
Do Stephens and Hoedt get worse with each appearance? Suppose the myth that Hughes made them worse is now gone. Neither of them should be anywhere near a Premier League team.

Much better without Krueger, who would give us the rehearsed soundbytes, or even patronise us despite clearly knowing nothing about the game. Also, without Reed, who would often talk about Champions League football and pushing us onto the next level, despite clearly not having the set-up, or infrastructure to do so. This did seem very honest. Admitted they made mistakes, didn't have a solid plan, which we all probably knew, as we could see it, but many clubs in this day wouldn't admit that and we've obviously all seen the club in the worse state when the owners have tried to play blind (to the fans) regarding the club's issues. We're going to remain a club which develops players and then moves them on to the bigger clubs. This time though, it's imperative that we keep the man in the dug-outs. Losing Koeman pushed us backwards massively and almost cost us our league status. We struck gold with Adkins, Poch and then Koeman, but yeah, I don't think we'll be taking Hassenhuttl for granted after the last three. Gao's here for the long-term "apparently", but it was mentioned that we're "not a club flushed with money". Manchester City were cited, but obviously none of us are expecting us to compete on that level. However, when recently promoted sides such as Wolves, Fulham (ha) and Aston Villa are outspending us, while Bournemouth have also done for a few windows now it is a bit disheartening and there is a fear we could be left behind and that Gao isn't the long-term answer for the club. We just need the plan and the money to come together at the club, so that we aren't spending £20m on Carrillo, but rather like we did in League One and the Championship when we were the big spenders and were able to sign the best, or better players in each division like Lambert, Hammond, Fonte, Sharp, etc which ended up very well for us.

Valery could be a £60m player next year going by Wan-Bissaka's sale this summer.
-
We don't have any of last season's loaned out brigade on the website, but we do have Austin and Lemina still on there, so not too much to read into that.
-
Tadic under Koeman?
-
0 appearances for Manchester City - £15m.
-
"I was also very frustrated by my injury that lasted four months." So were we. Ah well, at least he's showing the reason why we no longer want him around the squad with all these interviews. Usually players leave it for the international breaks to express their want to move on.
-
How much would we be happy with for Lemina? £25m?
-
How reliable is the information? From the same itk poster.
-
Weird to see Hoedt in there, as he's the one that's been rumoured to have the worst attitude of the loaned out bunch, didn't do himself any favours with the social media activity after Newcastle thrashed us and certainly didn't do himself any favours at Celta Vigo, as we all know he's not very good. Hopefully, it isn't an indicator of us fancying going for the cheap option again in trying to improve him, rather than bringing someone else in either. Although, on a similar note it's good to Cedric at least in there, as he still has something to offer in being the backup to Valery. (Just don't let him mark crosses). Sad regarding Lemina, as he's an entertainer when on song (as rare as that is) and one of very few in the team who can pull off something special. But, this team shows the decision regarding his future. Definitley need a new CM though, a Schneiderlin/Wanyama type, just not one of those two as their motivations seem to have gone. Lastly, bloody hell, Guido Carrillo. What a terrible signing.
-
He's Van Dijked them.
-
Bournemouth got £6m for Lewis Grabban from a Championship club. He's older than Austin and never scored a goal for Bournemouth. Probably on a lower wage though.
-
Why don't other clubs just sell their best players before the window begins like we did with Van Dijk?
-
We should try and make a move to bring Beattie home too. He's coincidentally been at Leeds and Birmingham when Chris Wood and Che Adams have had the best scoring season's of their careers.
-
Fonte was on the decline when we sold him, despite his career stock being high following the Euro’s win. Same as Cedric’s. Yeah, Fonte was a good servant through the League One and Championship years and looked good next to Lovren, Alderweireld and Van Dijk, but I don’t think he’d look any better in this current defence and at his current ability than what we’ve got now. Fortunately, we’re not currently discussing Fonte’s name alongside Austin’s, Long’s, Forster’s, Elyounoussi’s, etc.... Of average players who we’ve setup for life with their current contracts.
