They managed to avoid a sending-off yesterday, so I imagine they will be celebrating in style:

Ertl has found the problem- he reckons it was counter-productive to get all those red cards: ‘I looked on the Football League website and we were bottom of the league for discipline.' http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/ertl-we-ve-learned-from-red-woes-1-5515373

In fact: (1) We beat the league leaders *away*; (2) Skates lost at home to *Fleetwood* Karma

'The leopard does not change its shorts' In other news, dog bites man. Also, the Pope is found to be a catholic

Johnny visited his Gran one Saturday. Afterwards she walked back to the bus stop with him. As the bus drew up, she slipped a fiver into his hand. 'Now remember John, a fool and their money are soon parted', she reminded him. 'OK Gran,' he replied, as stepped on to the bus: 'but thanks anyway'.

Hilarious. A fit and proper mascot for them

I assume this doesn't breach the 'fair play' rules then? Even if they are technically in breach, I doubt the Bestest will let that worry them too much- the physical laws which govern the rest of the universe cease to apply within a 5 mile radius of Fatpipes

If that was mum taking her spoilt child shopping I could understand it. Oh...

I spoke not from being in any way ITK but only from a touchingly naive faith that Pompey's way of doing things doesn't change much. But even I didn't expect that simple faith to be rewarded a bare handful of posts later Pompey, the gift that keeps on giving :)

A week may be a long time in politics, but that's nothing compared with 36 hours on PTS. Be patient, a fresh scandal will shortly erupt to be greeted by howls of laughter over here and stunned disbelief over there
-
Perhaps they've paid over the odds for mediocre players? Again? Nah...

"The leopard does not change his shorts" Terry Pratchett, 'Unseen Academicals' i.e. the pattern of unsustainable spending justified by their MASSIVE fanbase, which they established ten years ago in the Prem, is being repeated in L2
-
They're on a L2 tour, once their MASSIVE traveling support have collected all the L2 mugs and shirts they need to complete their collections, that will be the signal for them to win the league

Thats the best summary of their problem I've seen.
-
Perhaps that's why they're called 'the phew'

This is easily explained by the septic few's adept grasp of Doublethink: "The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth." - Orwell, George (1949). Nineteen Eighty-Four. Martin Secker & Warburg Ltd, London, part 1, chapter 3, pp 32
