Well, put it this way: I always thought the death penalty was a cop-out and that a better punishment was a long, painful, drawn-out death. Sounds a lot like Pompey. So I wouldn't say they've gotten away with it.

To be fair to Birch, he's willing to sit down and go over the offers that were put forward infront of independent fans, and I doubt he would do that if he felt he'd somehow not acted appropriately. They're still a bit f*cked, but it makes it slightly funnier viewing.

I tend to go a bit easier on people who genuinely aren't as good with their grammar than others and I find these tend to come in that category... we all had to learn it at some point. It's the made up words and complete ******** that annoy me more.
-
Innit. When it was a colloquialism for 'Isn't it', I could handle it... but now this 'word' appears to have taken on the meaning of about 20 others... sometimes I swear it is used just to fill a gap where they know a word should go but aren't intelligent enough to know what word it should be. It also seems to be used in a CB-radio style, to let you know that they've finished what they were going to say. Innit.

Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)

Oh crikey, George is back! It's been awhile... Trousers' repeated 'insignificant' point is absolutely correct, when you view this subject from afar. We all know that we (the human race) are but a microscopic parasite on a pimple on the arse of the solar system. But I think it's fair to say most people don't view it from that point of view. If we viewed everything like that then nothing would ever happen, and we might as well just all kill ourselves and be done with it now. We have our lives to live, and we will have descendents who, I assume, we all want to live as happily and as heathily, if not more so, than us? I believe it is incumbent upon us to leave our home in the same or better state than I inherited it. As the native American saying goes: "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors: we borrow it from our children." So, whilst there will always be a huge amount of things that we have no control over, and the climate *may* be one of them (remember George, I can accept that I might be wrong... are you still unable to?), the vast array of science so far, indicates that we are having an effect on it and therefore I believe the precautionary principle should hold true... we should try to reduce and stop activities which, according to the best research currently available, are contributing to the changing climate. -

Which, if that continues, is one of the main reasons why we're f*cked. -
lol - I think trousers is actually just Newsnow in human form.

No, no, no... The9 will start dragging up examples of t-shirts designs from other clubs, the different templates that each t-shirt manufacturer uses, how the potential mixture of garment details will look in different colours, and what, if any, unique design elements might be introduced for us, or if they're reserved only for the big clubs.

I think the one thing this highlights is that there is a very real need to look at how we deal with what is coming. Whatever the opinions about how or why our climate is changing, surely we can all see the need to think about how we prepare and adapt for the kind of changes that our world is likely to see over the next 50 years, for our kids' sake? -
I said 'Most of'. Can't argue with government stats. Well, actually I am sure many people would gladly argue with them but anyway...
-
Yes, quite possibly. We all have an opinion after all and even the most basic of stats can be spun in many ways. I guess the key to it is for people to have the ability to remain open-minded, rather than blindly repeat their position parrot-fashion. It would also help though (and your Telegraph piece above highlights this nicely) if people could justify their opinions and give clear reasoning. Not doing so just turns a potentially valid opinion into a one-sided rant that either serves only to switch people off, respond in kind, or join in with the tub-thumping... none of which help further the discussion. For a minute there I could've been talking about the main board...
-
Well, judging by the number of emails I get from the latter, and allowing for the fact that they can't ALL be fake (surely?), then I'd go with them...
-
Most of these articles and quotes (on both sides) don't actually change or prove anything, they're just opinions on where we are and where we're going posted by someone who shares the same opinion and posts it to try and give their position more gravitas. And, shock horror, the articles and quotes posted are influenced by the positions and political values held by the author. What I would like to see more of is some objective analysis of what has happened, and options for the future, that are independent of political leaning, and aren't an attempt to big up or discredit any specific political policy, past or present.

And of course the big question: Is it Fuzzy?
-
Indeed, as I said, "Pre-Liquidation Friendly".
-
It always means something. In this case, it means that if they want to have any hope in League 1, he needs a lot of players and quickly, which he can't do until a buyer comes in, or they go pop. Or in other words: Pre-season is a bit of a waste of time for them. I'd call it Pre-Liquidation.

I'm the first to admit I haven't followed proceedings closely but from what I have read, it seems the the SFA have simply been going through the process quite normally, with various things needing to be sorted out, much of it through lawyers, and that takes time. Frankly the blame lies entirely with Rangers for me... all of this has only been necessary because of their predicament and the SFA have to go through due process. Anyway, it seems that we have the licence now and it's only the 'Escrow'-type situation that has created any doubt, but that's now between them up there...

Used this guy ourselves: http://www.premiercarriage.co.uk/ It's effectively a front end for a host of independent car owners, lots to choose from.
-
F*ck off! That would infer some kind of romantic undertone to all of this when it's actually more like seeing the mangy disease-ridden fox that occasionally stopped to eat in your garden, being put down. Yeah, you might miss it occasionally, but you know it's for the best because ultimately it is mangy and disease-ridden. And there ain't any songs about mangy disease-ridden Fox's.

He's starting to remind me of the Iraqi Information Minister. Superb effort indeed... just like all the other superb efforts that Pompey have come up with so far...
