The only one of your list this possibly applies to is Lallana, as is demonstrated by the age gap. I think an argument can be made that he would be in the midst of reaching the highest level now, if he were going to. The rest are ridiculous comments.

Nope. All but the last sentence, which is somewhat provactive I admit, is cold, hard fact. 7m Civil List is p*ss-ant compare to the defence, education and NHS budgets. And the tourist revenue of the whole black cab/red bus/Underground/buzby-wearing soldier/BuckHouse thing is astronomical.

Similar to my concern. How many points did we drop last season from winning positions ?
-
I am just realising how tough my own question is. That second half really was worryingly toothless. TBF I havent seen Maya enough to judge if he and Lovren will work. Hopefully that changes on Saturday.
-
I love all this Republican crap. Lets distribute the 7m Civil list across the country and behead the Royals. Lets destroying a living part of the nations history. For what ? How many nurses, teachers, soldiers, police, etc will 7m really bring ? How much revenue will London lose from tourism ? I can tell you the Schloss Schonbrün and the Gloriette in Vienna is cold, boring, dead and has no mystique compared to Buck House and the Mall. Subsequently there are no crowds milling around it 24 hours a day. How many flat-screen TVs, X-Boxes fags, cheap Tesco booze, drugs, etc will 7m get when spread across all the benefits scroungers ?

Trying to make sure when you are stuck in a battlefield you have the inner will and strength to survive when surrounded on all sides by bloodthirsty enemies. A violation of your human rights, despite you being a volunteer. You couldnt make it up... I remember some years ago when some Navy divers died during a run in their wetsuits along a beach. This fuss wasnt made then. In the past, the families of the bereaved would have stood against this. Now I hope they arent just standing with the claims lawyers. -
You are NC, you can buy one more player before Katharina Liebherr snaps her purse shut on your fingers. Striker or CB ? Both were inadequate last night. I say CB - I reckon Rickie will perk up again once the season starts. And Billy hasnt moved on yet, has he ?
-
True enough, but signing someone who it is clear is really so disinterested in the club in advance is a mistake, imo. I would imagine most players would think "they are paying so much for me, they must want me, lets do it", a bit like VW. Two players we signed who were utterly disinterested in the club : David Speedie Kevin Phillips Want an expensive repeat ?

Adam Lallana - has he flattered to deceive?

Two questions. Firstly why hasnt MP noticed this, if this is the case ? And secondly, does it yield enough dividend when taking into account that it leaves the LB horribly exposed, and that one of our LBs is 18 years old and the other is, well, pants ? -
Problem is, the other teams are doing the same.

Reckon Punch before Ramirez, and not convinced about Lallana. Ricky could find himself on the bench if we sign a new striker, Maya if we sign a new CB (no rumours in media though) -
The OP was about the team achievement, not the site.

Was thinking last night the numbering was a bit odd. Some you'd expect, some odd. Cant see Morgan at 16, and Chambers before Clyne. I would be surprised if Jos and Jose keep their numbers too.
-
Dont want someone here who isnt really interested. We've already got Ramirez. One is enough. Time to look elsewhere.

Mods, is this necessary ? Its just having a pop at various elements of the site membership. For me, I reckon top 10 is an achievement. We are still 3 or 4 players away from a good crack at the top 6.

Wanyama and Morgan didnt play together very long, and it co-incided with Fonte being on; its difficult to judge how that combination is going to work, at the moment. I am a bit nervous about breaking up the Cork/Morgan duo, but VWs strengths are there to see, and its something we've been crying out for. And I do sympathise with Cork a bit too. Hopefully he take it as a pro, and respond to the competition. IMO yesterdays starting line-up is not what MP is edging towards for his first XI; he is still trying out strong-weak combinations. Also Maya and Ramirez arent ready. I reckon we might get more idea from the Besitkas game, but it will be the Sociedad game where he really reveals his thinking. At this moment, I reckon Lallana could find himself out of the first XI. The only players I reckon should be confident of being in the first XI are : Puncheon (performance) Lovren (no competition, cost to club) Wanyamma (potential, cost to club) Shaw (performance) Schneiderin (performance) For me the rest are up for grabs. Getting more worried about why Boruc isnt getting the opportunity to form an understanding with the two CBs, especially as that lack of understanding was an undoubted contributor to both goals yesterday. -

Thanks for the tip. The whole Merlin vs. radial engine debate is quite interesting. The ability of radials to take more damage than the liquid-cooled Merlin was really driven home when comparing the performance of BI/III Lancasters against BIIs. The Merlin-powered BI/IIIs could carry more and fly higher, but the Hercules-powered BIIs could take a bigger hammering when going in over the target. -

My thoughts on yesterday : - I hope there isnt a problem with Boruc, we're in trouble if Gazza gets games. - Lovren looked a bit shaky at the beginning, but grew into the game, then why the f**k he hesitated for their second, I'll never know. Reckon hes going to turn out a good buy, but needs someone reliable alongside him and more work needed on the understanding at the back with the GK. - Fonte looks to me like a busted flush at this level. He seems to always make the same mistakes. Was a rock for us getting us back to this level, but we need another CB and he needs to move on. - VW is a man-mountain. will make the necessary challenges and hold the play all-day-long if asked to. Is going to be a big player for us this season - Concerned about how Corky is going to fit in (his return from injury last season was pivotal in our recovery, imo) - Puncheon and J-Rod look in fine form, for long parts of the game they were our threat. - Looked strong on the right; Chambers worked well with Puncheon, but needs a bit more consistency. - Left looked a bit shaky at beginning of game, but then Shaw asserted himself. Looked really weak in second half with Lallana and Fox; it does not work - Mayuka is so far off the game, I am worried about our striking options. - Lallana is facing a make-or-break season, imo. He steps up or he doesnt. Looked off-the-pace yesterday. - Isgrove and Davis looked good in the middle, will have a role to play. Less impressed with Ward-Prowse. - Morgan needs to control his temper. I think he got a final warning from the ref yesterday from what i saw, and this was a "friendly" Final word about the Schalke fans. A bloody nice bunch. Wanted to talk, and a couple wanted photos together Saints and Schalke fans, young and old. Also some Dutch in the crowd who seemed very knowlegeable about Saints. Nice to meet Andy Durman too. -

I watched him for the entire 2nd half yesterday and not only was he completely off the pace, but his decision-making was off as well. -

the most worrying thing about this second half is how ineffective Adam is. we all know we have no defensive depth. -
