Yeah, I recall the Guardian (I think - it was one of the nationals anyway) wrote about a variation of that story last year when commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the sinking. I've read comments about it being tasteless, but seeing as all the survivors have passed on and there cant be many directly bereaved left either, I for one am more fascinated , even mildly excited about the idea of seeing her sitting alongside the Ocean Terminal and then going over to Weston Shore or Vickky Country Park to watch her depart. If England reach a finals, being an Englishman I feel duty-bound to get worked up about it. Perhaps it comes from working with so many German and Italian big-heads. And then having done what I set out to studiously avoid doing, knowing the depths of underachievement and disappointment that follow, I end up witnessing underachievement and feeling massive disappointment anyway. I'm hoping for a non-England tournament where I can simply enjoy the football. I really enjoyed Euro 2008, especially since I had just moved to one of the host nations about 3 months before. The atmosphere here was buzzing.

I started falling out with the England team back in 1998 when Hoddle left MLT behind for the WC in France and took Les Ferdinand, despite the gulf in their performances during that England B game against Russia. 1998 - its been a long-and-winding road. Full of mediocrity.

Cannot bring myself to support England with him as manager. Glad our boys are being overlooked; they wouldnt get to play, wouldnt get passed to if they came on as sub, and would come back with their minds messed up.
