We're stuck paying the smegger, arent we ?
-
The truth is, he has never stopped tinkering with them. The "ghost" scene at the end of Return of the Jedi always featured Sebastian Shaw as Anakin on the originals and the Special Editions, until the DVD release just around Revenge of the Sith, where you got the originals (which were supposed to have had their last ever release on the 1995 editions) and the Special Editions. In this release, Sebastian Shaw was replaced by Haydn Christiansen to be consistent with when Anakin turned to the dark side. I bought it ages ago but only watched it last week, and nearly choked my coffee over the screen when I saw it. Still reckon the Special Editions were worthwhile; I dont understand anyone who reckons the additions to Bespin and Mos Eisley, and the general effects clean-up, werent worth doing.

Seems to me NC wants us to try, but wont jump off the Itchen Bridge (taking NA with him) if we dont make it. Our transfer activity suggests promotion is a nice-to-have rather than a must this season.
-
Could well be what we need. Seen no comment about it being "with a view to becoming permanent" though. Would be a pity if he does well then leaves come January.
-
Pay-as-you-play, possibly. But someone will offer him some sort of contract, I am sure.

Generally speaking, I felt the 1997 Special Editions were a worthy enhancement of classic films and deserving of indulging Lucas. But this change (if its true and not an internet spoof) is just plain pathetic and kitsch.

WHAT ? I have seen two games this season, and am entitled to expresss how I see it as much as anyone else. Funny how when I go to a game the abuse changes from "Alpine never goes to games" to "one game and he thinks his word is gospel". Some people are simply too childish to accept opinions at variance to their own....

I would argue that Millwall managed.

Problem is, even I could instruct an NPC team how to play against us. 1. Get in Lallanas face, close him down, even kick him. 2. Long balls down the flanks and out-pace the RB and LB and get crosses in. Everyone is going on about we only need a CB (not yet addressed). Maybe we need to look at RB too. We surely have enough options at LB now.

Very concerned about the comments about Richardson on here, especially considering what I saw last week against Millwall, where he was skinned and outpaced by the attacking player every time.
-
Dont get me wrong, I think our start to the season has been utterly superb. But there have been warning signs and today has been a wake-up call, if last week against Millwall didnt already serve as one.
-
We have consistently looked shaky in defence down the middle and given the opposition too much time on the ball.
-
This result has been coming since the Leeds match. We have flattered to decieve a little with our results. And last week against Millwall was the end of the line. We have issues in defence, this is finally crystal clear. And we have less than a week to sort it out. Time to stop p*ssing about, NC.

Well, I for one am with the OP. Why have we f**ked up a good transfer, that would have plugged our one significant hole, for a player of unknown quality with a gammy ankle ?

Does Lambert get fair treatment from Refs?

I was outraged at two incidents in the second half. The one where he was being held as he tried to turn and D'Urso gave Millwall the free kick, and the other near the end when a Millwall player came up behind him as the ball came from Davis and Rickie just fell like a sack of potatoes because the Millwall player pulled off something not very visible (and hence D'Urso didnt give anything) but it obviously hurt. But I have to also agree, he seems to go down quite a lot for such a big bloke. -

All fair comments from what I saw. But worried about the way we sat back and gave them space after we scored, seems to be a recurring theme. Seaborne did hold firm, but he is a weak spot and I reckon it was a couple of incidents involving him that gave them heart in the second half. Seemed like we were being a bit too clever and tippy-tappy without any resolve to go forward at times. -
Considering how much difficulty I had getting 7 together, I find it hard to believe its only 18K sold.

I care. I am not 100% convinced by the back 5 yet. Thankfully, the front 6 seem capable of compensating any shortcomings.

The "how did brighton get so annoyed with us" thread
alpine_saint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
I reckon it goes back to our promotion to the old Division 1. If we had beaten Spurs on the last daz, Brighton would have gone up and not Spurs. But we played out a bore draw with them -
To be fair, things are going so well at the moment, only a complete c~~t would bad-mouth the club (tho there are a few on here.....)
-
Hmm, you never know. Besides, NC would probably try to ensure the financial gulf is not as big as it was in MLTs time, and hes going to get to the PL with us anyway. I wonder how close we were to selling him during the Lowe Second Coming ?

Adkins reaction to the ipswich humiliation
alpine_saint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Absolutely chuffed with the fantastic way we have started the season, but if there is one criticism to be made, this is it. It was the same against Leeds. We have to be in the other teams face a bit more. If you let them get their tails up, we start losing games. -
This site needs sorting out on match day.
