  1. This. Letting Leon Best play the whole of that second play-off leg was sheer incompetence the way he was on the night. I was in Park City Utah watching the live written commentary feed of the extra time and penos, and when I saw Best was taking the first, I knew where it was leading. And I was considering the ramafications of the amount of money spent with no promotion as soon as I saw that Idiakez was next up to take one...
  2. If he isnt being re-assessed for another 2 weeks, chances are his season is finished, considering we are only talking about ~ 6 weeks left. I think this could have tragic consequences. He has been called an impact player - exactly what we need when turning 1pt into 3pts in only one game may be critical. However, referring back to the very unpoular thread I started last week, it could make all the difference having a fit and rested Oxo in the playoffs. Great news about Lallana being fit though, really didnt fancy our chances over the next 10 games without him.
  3. Very deliberate and pre-meditated sabotage. Blair, Brown, Harman and Darling deliberately butt-f*cked and trashed the UK for generations to come. They oversaw the biggest immigration flow and expansion of the public sector the country has ever known in order to provide a captive electorate voting base for them. They changed the country forever. They also knew that the succeeding government would have an absolute nightmare of a job on their hands as a result of their actions, and they bet that it would make them so unpopular that Labour would be re-elected at the end of their term or when the coalition collapsed. We've lost our navy and RAF and our world standing over this. This is the second time in 50 yrs that Labour have wrecked the country and left the mess to a Tory government to clear up, with such drastic measures that the pain will be felt for generations. My main worry now, having been stuck with a Tory Government, similar to the last one that destroyed our manufacturing base and set us on the path to dependency on Banks and services is that Call Me Dave is no Margaret Thatcher. At least she stood up to the unions. I have always voted Labour, but no more. NEVER.
  4. Exactly. I was shocked at just how flimsy modern boots are when I got my sons their first boots. And they *****d after a couple of weeks. No wonder modern players get so many toe and lower ankle injuries. EDIT: heheheh, the spell checker doesnt like m!nge.
  5. From what I have witnessed directly or indirectly over the last 20-odd games, we simply arent playing as well as we should. I will excuse some lack of consistency as being down to injuries. Therefore I can support some of what saint lard says. However, he can k*ss my arse if his real motivation is a grudge about Pardew being fired, since I dont think we were much better and we definitely werent more consistent under him. Pardew had a fully fit and motivated Rickie Lambert AND a season-long fit Lallana to draw upon, FFS.
  6. Less than a majority voted for the previous one too. Leave it out with the ZanuLabour-cum-Marxist Today rhetoric, FFS
  7. Legacy tainted by being an agressive arrogant gob-sh*te.
  8. Yep. Agent Orange is BACK. My comiserations to the people of Coventry..............
  9. Nope, that's not what I wrote. Please read what I wrote, not some sixth-hand re-interpretation of it.
  10. And you dont think the fans and club will make the history known to the current crop of players ?
  11. Aw come on you killjoy. We are still in the hunt for promotion big-time. Last year was already looking highly unlikely, and for me promotion is much more important than a worthless trophy and being a few hundred quid lighter from an obligatory visit to one of the biggest fleeching operations in English football.
  12. It really is a complex question (and I am really pleased the exchange of views here is without rancour). If I were Huddersfield I think I would want the games-in-hand; they have an increasing problem of sitting on their hands watching what we are going to do, completely powerless to fight it. 10 points lead for 6 games in hand sounds not good. I know it is the same average as 5points from 3 games, but over 6 games there is more chance to up the performance level and take risks, I reckon.
  13. My thoughts too.
  14. Why should the form for the 3 games in hand automatically extrapolate into the form for all 10 games ? Of the two "games in hand " we've already had, Walsall and Charlton, we've managed 0.5 points per game. We never exploit a situation to its fullest potential, so I reckon 5pts for the 3 games-in-hand is a fair trade and keeps up our momentum towards 2nd.
  15. Not a bright idea if there is already evidence the battery management aint working properly : Over-discharging Lithium-ion Li-ion should never be discharged too low, and there are several safeguards to prevent this from happening. The equipment cuts off when the battery discharges to about 3.0V/cell, stopping the current flow. If the discharge continues to about 2.70V/cell or lower, the battery’s protection circuit puts the battery into a sleep mode. This renders the pack unserviceable and a recharge with most chargers is not possible. To prevent a battery from falling asleep, apply a partial charge before a long storage period. Battery manufacturers ship batteries with a 40 percent charge. The low charge state reduces aging-related stress while allowing some self-discharge during storage. To minimize the current flow for the protection circuit before the battery is sold, advanced Li-ion packs feature a sleep mode that disables the protection circuit until activated by a brief charge or discharge. Once engaged, the battery remains operational and the on state can no longer be switched back to the standby mode. Do not recharge lithium-ion if a cell has stayed at or below 1.5V for more than a week. Copper shunts may have formed inside the cells that can lead to a partial or total electrical short. If recharged, the cells might become unstable, causing excessive heat or showing other anomalies. Li-ion packs that have been under stress are more sensitive to mechanical abuse, such as vibration, dropping and exposure to heat.
  16. I recommend you be careful. Lithium ion batteries are a dangerous pain-in-the-arse. You have no idea how much intelligent protection has to be built in to prevent overcharging and discharging to far Lithium ion batteries can EXPLODE without the management system. I suspect one of two things : 1. The battery is damaged/degraded. Get a new one 2. Check no-one has played with the PC power / shut-down settings I wouldnt recommend you just carry on regardless.
  17. An excellent idea for a thread. 5pts for me.
  18. Sounds about right. I hope NC realises that NA is going to have to give him quite a big shopping list.
  19. Obsessed. You have my pity.
  20. Misses 3 or 4 games then
  21. Must admit Posh's result last night was unexpected. It does seem as each round of games goes by, the average points-per-game we need is dropping.
  22. And easy offer to make seeing as you have already proven 27pts is enough.
  23. Well put. Basically, we cannot breakdown the plucky sh*t teams the way we should be able to; we can only perform against teams that want to play football against us. Brighton have got that sussed as well, hence they will be Champions.
  24. Indeed. If we dont get 2nd, I am assuming it will be Posh. I just dont feel that Huddersfield will maintain their form enough. In which case MK Dons are the team to worry about in the playoffs.
