Thanks for confirming the suspicions I voiced on the sacking thread, DPS. As more info becomes available and the heat has dissipated, everybody is viewing this much more reasonably. I stuck throughout in my support of NC, simply because I think we dont exactly have much option or say in how we go forwards. We have to trust him to make the right decisions about the manager position. I was a bit p*ssed on Tuesday that it seemed there was no replacement lined up, but if this was a sudden action this is completely understandable. I thought at first it was performance related, in which case a repalcement could have been lined up, but now this seems not to be the case.... Of NCs ability to bring in the sort of replacement we need to carry The Plan forward, I am very confident. Though my faith in him will be shattered if this turns out not to be the case. I do not expect him to penny-pinch on the appointment.

There has been a definite sea change on this site in the last 48hrs, I've noted. The abuse of NC has stopped, and there is serious discussion about how this has come about. Although the speculation is not beneficial, I am glad that the ranting has ended. There is still a job for NC to do.

I think the 30% have answered the poll in the only way possible. Interesting that this percentage has rise whilst the "no" has dropped. The "yes" has remained fairly constant.

Agreed. There is a little matter of NC having other things on his mind recently. I still dont get the difference in performance between before (Rovers) and after (Swindon) though. If the story is true, would have expected the difference to be the other way. Might explain why we went off the boil so badly against Plymouth though.

Look, I dont know how we are going to get to the bottom of this either way. Saints fans have two choices; support the chairman and whoever he appoints as manager and hope we can get the promotion campaign back on track, or they can squeal, moan, b*tch, mewl and puke, including in the stands, creating a sh*t atmosphere that helps demotivate the team, and in that manner ENSURE the promotion campaign as well as an innocent new manager fails. Which is it to be ?

The BBC have taken that article down. However, there is quite a bit of detail there now. Considering the rough few weeks NC has had- if this is true - AP comes out of this looking like a prize c**t. I hope certain people will have the humility to express regret for their comments about NC if that is the case.

Which in my book puts AP in violation of any mutual NDA agreed. For which I hope NC goes to town on him. Though he probably wont. NC has more style and discretion than AP.

In fairness, he had just presided over a 4-0 win and we havent been given an explanation. The one problem I have with this story is that if AP was so unpopular with the team, why did they behave like such sulky w**kers last night ?
