And that is the whole point. There were absolutely no excuses for this season, but the whining about pressure started before a ball had been kicked, we focused on cup games when we shouldnt have and then the manager starts whining about needing an away match. Utter b*ll*cks.

IMO you are deluded if you think we would have got higher than playoffs this season under Pardew. Pre-season was a complete f**k-up, and he wanted to wait until the very end of the window to bring essential transfers in (that we will now never have...)

B*ll*cks. We lost twice to Swindon last year, once with a better team than yesterday. Face facts, Danny Wilson has the measure of us and is a better manager than Pardew will ever be. I reckon Lordswoodsaint is right, once the right manager is appointed, Barnard is off his ban, Goolie has settled and clued up a bit more, and maybe a loan or two brought in, I expect us to be right back in the mix.

A good a summary as you can get. Death and injury are unavoidable, but it has to be asked, exactly WTF was Pardew being paid to do all summer. The team was completely neglected.

I was given so much crap over the summer when I said the squad is weaker and we depend too much on him, we are f**ked if he suffered a loss of form and we needed cover for many positions. NickG (amongst others) scoffed at the very idea...................

AP was not that good a manager, he partially assembled a promotion squad, but then failed to complete the job over the summer. But his tactical and substitution capabilites, ergo the ability to turn a game around, was f**king sh*t. So in my opinion, yes the Rover results does hint that NC following through on this sacking has f**ked things up significantly, but he does have the time and the resources to appoint someone and put things right from a managerial perspective. And in time for this season too. If it turns out that AP has assembled some sort of personality cult at SFC and the players he signed refuse point-blank to respond to the new manager, then this season is a write-off because we will have to ship these overpaid w**nkers out and rebuild.

I would think seriously about how many of these players I would want to keep after their gutless disinterested performances over the last two games.

Whichever way you cut it, the entire summer was a f**king waste. We didnt hit the ground running, we fell on our f**king arse.
