Called the Megastore this morning, was told end of September. Bit longer than the 6 weeks been touted, but at least the end is in sight. Thought some of you might like to know. Since a few people are starting to indicate they feel the shirt is a jinx, I would be curious to know if anyone has fallen foul to a daft accident whilst wearing one.

And as I pointed out, over 55% of people voted that sacking AP was a mistake anyway...

Nothing against him at all, and havent spoken out against him either. But he is not the strong profile that is going to settle this team quickly and get players to stay, it would seem How do you know ? Why are you so certain ? What is your source ? Do you know if he was even spoken to ? Come on , you are stating it as a fact, something I am frequently criticised for (by you too)

Look, can't we just vote on who we want as manager and who we think will achieve the target of promotion this season, for heavens sake ? Why is it so complicated ?
-
How did you come to these two names ?
-
Not in the slightest concerned at this stage. I expect him to give the new manager a chance. Its up to us to allow him to go as well, and we are no longer a selling club.
-
We need an impact manager to connect with the team immediately and attract a couple of decent loans. The squad quality is largely good enough to deliver promotion. The time for being patient and easing a new manager in is long, long gone.
-
In fairness though, if it comes out that he is right about the MON / Adkins interplay, I will be mightily p*ssed with NC and will start wondering if I havent been too hasty in refusing to draw parallels between NC and Lowe.
-
I for one want us to get on with this season, so do we have much choice ? The real acid test of whether SFC can deliver under NC will be seeing who he appoints as the new manager. I suggest we be paitent until we can draw a conclusion from that.

Very few. How many on here are me disagreeing with the thread sentiment ?
-
And hopefully Capello has finally got the message about Lampard and Terry over the last week. We dont need them, and they are a f**king hinderance.
-
So what if I am ? Its my opinion which I have formulated, not followed the blind sheep or the happy-clappies. And reading you lecture about abuse, that really is f**king funny considering some of the stuff you've been writing about me again this week. I am perfectly entitled to start a criticism thread to counter-balance the appreciation thread (btw, have a loko - it has more posts than this one...), since many had doubts about him, but your first contribution was to call me an "arse"...
-
I agree. More twonkyness from Mr. Illingsworth.

There is absolutely NO point in me answering this post, since it is about the 3000th time you've repeated it, and for the 3000th time you have been UTTERLY disingenous in ignoring the fact that the club didnt have a pot to p*ss in when Pearson was manager and lavished MILLIONS on Burley and Pardew. Oh, and if we were to be really analytical, and argue that Pardew brought us to the playoff limit in League1 with tactically one-dimensional football and clueless substitutions, and Burley brought us to the playoff limit (luckily falling on the right side due to PNE choking it) in the CCC with tactically one-dimensional football and clueless substitutions, for a similar amount of money spent, it argues that Pardew was even worse value-for-money than Burley. Now that is really f**king saying something. At least he gave a better post-match interview, eh ?

Come off it, Pompey will get away with the Smith sale and the Lawrence purchase, just like they've got away with everything else...

Sheffield Wednesday 24hrs from administration

The honour is mine. I find it quite sad seeing some Saints fans on here wishing for another team to go into admin, after everything we went through.... -

If the Owls go into admin, this makes an even bigger mockery of the Pompey outcome. -
Not happening, is it ? F**k FiveLive.

When did I last mention Burley ? Last time I expressed any schadenfreude over his fate was probably his last game in charge for Scotland. Its a waste of my valuable life force dwelling on him any more.

Thats a good question. I reckon our "family" and "provincial" nature stood us in good stead for quite a long time of our history, but it seems to be the case that modern professional football clubs are very slickly organised machnes. I cannot tell exactly when the family nature started to become a hinderance, but I would hazard a guess when the PL started and SKY started dumpint silly money into the game, and was aggravated by the PLC status and moving to SMS from the Dell. I would rather the club was still the way it was - staffed and represented by the community, and serving the community - but it just doesnt fit with the modern realities of football, and we would go out of business if we carried on like we used to.
-
Nutshell.
-
Nope.
-
Still find a lack of denial, or a lack of an expression of no interest from MON, as very illuminating.................
-
Would love to know your source, also would love to know if MONs T&Cs involve no team interference.

Agreed, he could have saved us from that badly punctuated, changing object, inaccurate stream of tedious drivel. If he want to call me a c**t I'd respect him more if he just got on with it.
