  2. Well considering the whining yet abusive PM I got from you this week, clearly I am one of the three you are referring to. I feel sorry for you that you simply cannot accept that someone says something for genuine reasons with genuine emotion when it offends you...
  3. OK Daren, you dont want to argue, but I want to make a couple of points about your post - its up to you if you want to respond further. I have a family, and that costs a lot of money. If I cannot afford something, I have to make a decision to prioritise. The people complainng so vocally on this site about the installment plan withdrawal and the resulting ability to afford an ST has made it ALL of our businesses. No-one held back from calling me a fat bastard because I complained that I cannot get the home kit in XXL or XXXL at this time. I didnt say low-income people should not think about season tickets, I said those who cannot afford a season ticket should consider if there is something else that is a higher priority for their limited resources. If it was last seasons promise, it was last seasons promise. I dont get the point you are trying to make. NC and ML came in and rejuvenated our club, surely you must have realised that this comes at a price and not everything would stay the same ? I think we should be so grateful that so little has changed. No one was complaining about the cheap offers for kids last season, I note.
  4. Well you presume incorrectly, then. I have never said a bad word about Wotton. I cannot help you jumping on the badwagon and putting words in my mouth, but its a bit silly of you.
  5. Makes sense, but that means Connolly will be no higher than 22. Surprising.. Ah, forget it. Behind the times
  6. Complete b*ll*cks. Apart from the big 4 or 6 in the PL, no-one is making money. The rest are slowly bankrupting themselves maintaining the status quo. As for why he didnt buy a German or Swiss club, maybe he couldnt pick one up so cheap (none so completely f**ked) or buy it into single person ownership because they have completely different and very stringent rules about club ownership over there. Do you hear about Abramovich-like or Sheik-like people buying German or Swiss clubs at all ?? No, thought not. The Bundesliga in those two countries have only got to look at England in order to decide how not to run their games... Even the biggest monopoly in German sport - Bayern Munich in football - isnt owned by a single individual or very small group of investors.
  7. I trust Weston Saint too, and he has a good contact. But his almost complete absence from pre-season is suspicious.
  8. Who does the categorising ? Hampshire's Finest ? They have always been a bunch of officious bastards. why is the Plymouth kick-off at 12:15, FFS ? Certainly down to them. I hear they even shut down a closing party at a pub over Totton. miserable tossers
  9. Nope, I went too when it was called Riverside. Fond memories of Riverside, McCluskeys, Burbanks, Simons Wine Bar, New Yorks, Dog & Duck (Swifts? the night Hammy used to do anyway)
  10. Nope, you are right. The SaintsTrust (Illingsworth) more or less boycotted it without using the B word itself.
  11. If I recall the last time I looked around me when sat on the Kingsland, I would argue that this site is NOT representative and if anything paints a rosy picture of the average Saints fan. We have some real whinging old codgers and neanderthals amongst or fan base, and this was the Kingsland. And I will never get this leaving 5mins before the end of the game for as long as I have a hole in my arse.
  12. The bloke is a f**king billionaire. He might make 10million if he's lucky and we are lucky. Money is leaving the game currently, not pouring into it. If it was just a business venture, I seriously doubt he would have bothered with the aggro for the small return.
  13. sorry mate cant agree. No-one buys into a footbally club to make money. After the reverse take-over he got the taste for the power and the fan adulation and got rid of the retirement homes, probably the bit that did make money. I dont even buy into the theory that ML has bought SFC with a view to making a profit. He might make a bit if we reach the PL, but I reckon he simply enjoys the game.
  14. Pathetic. Dont ever lecture me about my style of support again.
  15. Sometimes, you post good points. Sometimes you seem to have suffered a humour bypass. The reason I chose "swaythling" for example, was it make it a self-effacing comment, ergo humour. There were plenty of districts I could have chosen. I dont get your argument about half-season tickets at all. NC has (correctly) calculated that with a strong prospect of promotion, combined with no half-season ticket, he would sell more full season tickets. Also, he secures the club more revenue to spend on players and infrastructure in advance without an installment plan, without any additional costs. It aint f**king rocket science...
  16. Get off your high-horse. I come from Swaythling. I know from what I speak. The reason given by the club is the administrative costs of the scheme. Meaning the money that comes in is not worth it. Meaning certain types somewhere arent coughing up.
  17. Fine. That's your opinion. I even see value in it. But others dont agree with you. Your character assassination of NC, who in my opinion is the bloke who saved this club, grows tedious.
  18. What cost, FFS ? What really of substance has changed ? Fewer pikeys from Thornhill and Swaythling get the opportunity to default on their ST payments. Wow.........
  19. What a moaning, self-indulgent "want your cake and eat it post". If he gets his bonus, we are back in the PL. Do you want all the little fluffy bits, or top-flight football, more ??
  20. I mentally prepared myself for dropping dead whilst still working ages ago. Its going to happen, everyone should deal with it. Anyway, I reckon I'd get bored or throttle the wife if I were at home... However, it means I get incandescent when I see the blue-rinse brigade bleating about the size of their pension, when half of them havent even contributed their whole lives and most of it is funded from the current work force's NI contributions. Especially as a lot of them got to draw their final salary pensions and will continue to do so whilst the schemes they are in cut the benefits to those still not retired. Maybe Logan's Run had the right idea...
  21. So with that in mind, that he wants a successful club as much as you do, will you meekly accept him sacking AP if it happens, or will you mewl and puke about it on here ? This IS different from Lowe. Lowe was only interested in the power. Cortese is, im my opinion, really trying to make the club a success. He may be doing it in a Thatcherite manner, but after the last 13 years of Labour, maybe that way didnt look so bad either...
  22. Isnt this all a bit unfair to Paul Wotton ? He's always given us 110% whatever you may think about his ability.
  23. A more cheesy populist than Bliar and Obama. Never thought it possible...
  24. F**k me, is this still going ? Nick must be well chuffed.
