Personnel actions to ensure promotion next season
alpine_saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Much as I have doubts about their consistency and how badly it affects the team if they both have an off-day together, I recognise the impact they have on the team when things go well (more often than not at the moment). A closet, Mars, or an island in the South Pacific surrounded by naked nymphomaniacs, couldnt care so long as their agents cant reach them. -
Sign Antonio Sign Papa Lock Schneiderlin and Lallana in a closet over the summer Review the progress of Otsemobor and Seaborne, bring in CB and RB if not satisfactory by end of trasnfer window Autumn 2010 Sign a midfield general/engine room Employ Connolly as an impact sub only - starting front line are Lambert and Barnard Look to offload fringe players. Much as I appreciate the contribution they have made, I doubt Wotton, Jaidi, Perry and Murty are up to the demands of next season.

...I completely bottled following a Saints match, given an opportunity to do so.

Well, seeing as a far amount of the conjecture going on in the SKY box and the commentary was about this very subject (sadly MLT decided to weigh into the discussion too), it would not surprise me.
-
So, the question to be asked is - was it a coincidence, or did the SKY bloke in charge of camera direction get an instruction from "on high" to create a little news item ? Put Cortese up on the screen at the exact time a figure that seemed to crusade for us to have points docked not exactly to the letter of the rules came out onto the pitch, thereby heaping more attention on the nature of the relationship between chairman and manager ? Nothing would surprise me about our media anymore.

As someone has posted, ML and NC are a package deal. MLs money and NCs firm but supportive management has brought us our first silverware in 34 years. And they are our best bet to get back to the big time. I think saintkiptanui is right - some people should shut the f**k up and stop looking for issues.

I have seen Papa's and Antonio's goal. They were both cracking attempts. Would be happy if both stay. -
Stupid, more like.

I couldnt hack it. I woke up this morning facing a nervous breakdown. SO much for not giving a sh*t. -

F*cking A. I am more optimistic than this morning that we can do it. The players will have enjoyed the taste of the big-time today, and will want more. Brighton will have a game on their hands on Thursday. Gus Poyet not withstanding. -

Southampton all over, that. 4-0 up and cruising, make sure the fans sh*t themselves for the last 5 or 6 mins. -

Gary Birtles. A thorny name in the side of every Saints fan, seems to want to carry on p*ssing us 40-somethings off after wrecking our first Cup Final (1979) -

Just come in from washing the car - I couldnt face watching it, I got so jittery. Saw the HT score, very pleased, but even more jittery about watching the 2nd half. Do we deserve the lead ? Are Carlisle dangerous-looking ? -

Win our game in hand, and its only 9pts. 3 games (we have the best GD from the affected teams) with 8 left...its a big ask.

What Famous Faces will be there tomorrow?
alpine_saint replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Yep, hillarious. A real turn of wit. I am surprised at you, nick. Lets do the other cliches such as Nazism, Lederhosen, Von Trapps, Apfelstrudel, Mozart and Schwarzenegger too, and show how pig-sh*t ignorant, xenophobic and mentally limited us English REALLY are. Seems like the testosterone and blood pumping through the veins in anticipation of tomorrow has destroyed quite a few braincells...
