TBH that’s about as good a team as we can put out today. I’ll say 2-1 to Newcastle, with a TP header but from open play this time.
-
Again, you're just making stuff up. We sold Lavia for about £55m, after one decent season. Livramento went for about £40m and Dibling isn't going anywhere cheaply either. We're a stepping stone club, whether we accept it or not, same as everyone else. How are Ake and Solanke getting on at Bournemouth this year?
-
A huge assumption to say he'd have brought us back up but if he had we'd probably be exactly where we are now, which is basically where he had us with a similar squad two years ago.

Selles doing a job on the Blades here.

We're not 'only' interested in turning a profit on players, there's far more to running a PL club than that. We're not celebrating, you've made that up. We don't get, "pleasure from what the player does on the pitch," unless the club is run in a financially stable and responsible way. We're not just trying, "to make a few mill on cheapo players," trading on players is part of the process and we've spent plenty on expensive flops along the way. Decent signings will leave pretty much every club in the world, apart from maybe Real, City, Barca and Bayern. I refer you to point two on Dibling/MF. Who is cheering?

What's your point? Who is saying, "never mind the embarrassment of a season"? Nobody is holding this up as an example of a successful season, just stating that we did good business on Meghoma, bringing him in and selling him on at a profit.
-
TBH they could walk here, arrive twenty minutes before kick off and still beat us 3-0.
-
I must have missed that. If there’s one luxury we do have, it’s knowing our fate months in advance and being able to plan now for life in the Championship. My gut instinct is to go for Rohl, who knows the league much better than Juric and seems to be doing well at Wednesday. On the flip side, if we start seeing some promising results with the latter towards the end of the season, then he might be worth considering.
-
It may well be that he just isn’t happy down south. He’s a Yorkshire lad who’s spent most of his life there or just across the border in Burnley. Whatever his problem is, it clearly transcends managers, so a move back north wouldn’t surprise me.
-
Just the six consecutive defeats against them, in all comps. Last time we beat them at St Mary’s we went top of the league.
-
The striker or the submarine murderer?
-
Why, having been relegated to the Championship, would we sell a half decent Championship goal scorer for a significant loss on what we paid for him? £10m looks about right to me.
-
Since we sacked Ralph - P46 W4 D7 L35 The last time we won a PL game by more than one goal was against Norwich in February 2022.
-
I don’t want to finish below Derby’s record and have that hanging over us but as an alternative timeline, how about if we lose every game from now until the end of the season, apart from a 4-0 win away to Everton. Imagine the looks on their fan’s faces if we finished on 9 points but still did the double over them, won the last ever game at Goodison and sent them down. It’d be f**king hilarious.
-
I was at that game and the most hilarious thing about it was that we were winning at the time they were time wasting. Think he might have set up Lambert’s goal but can’t remember that for certain.
-
Nope. Never expressed any opinion I’d consider to be ‘pro-Israeli’ just a rudimentary understanding of that particular conflict and what motivates both sides to do what they do. I can’t even be arsed going into it again, suffice to say some people are still not getting the basic ideas.
-
I’ve no problem with Jan being in the squad next season. What was absolutely ludicrous was getting promoted and then signing two CBs who are actually worse than him. A bit like if we’d been promoted in 2012 with Fonte and Hooiveld, then signed Dan Seaborne as a PL ‘squad player’.
-
His six goals, including a pen, in half a season really isn’t much to go on. Especially when he failed to score in the half a La Liga season he played before that. I think Brett Ormerod score five goals in a week once, it’s really not much of a sample to go on. To put it bluntly, he just looked sh*t every time I saw him play.
-
I fear he’s one of those who’ll just stick around forever, as an accepted part of the furniture. Not only that, in a couple of years he’ll get a testimonial and the club will be actively celebrating an astonishingly substandard player being a regular fixture for over a decade.
-
How are we supposed to immediately loan him out to Goztepe, if we only sign him on loan ourselves? Is it like some kind of HMO sub-letting scheme?
-
We might be losing an unwanted record at Portman Road. The biggest away win of the season is currently a three way tie of 0-5s, two of which are against Saints. City currently 0-5 up.
-
Pleased for TP to finally get off the mark, hopefully that gives him a bit of belief to maybe pop up with a couple more this season. The negatives though; we were dreadful first half and the game was all but over after 41 minutes. Bednarek's goal was an absolute fluke and Ramsdale has had an absolute mare. The disallowed goal was a howler and he can't be conceding the three he did at this level. Hopefully the Newcastle game is more second half than first.
-
Was that not agreed in like, 2019?
-
Christ, this is turning into a game of ‘My grandma went to market’ but I’m sticking with it. Okay, 4-3, Archer to score, a late TP off the bench, JWP own goal and a Sugawara header.
-
Rest issues aside, that's probably part of why Juric dropped Sully, even after a decent game at OT. He wouldn't get half the space he had on Thursday if he was playing right now.
